    one thing that has worked well for me is supersetting a heavy, free weight exercise with a resistance band until failure set immediately following it

    for example, if I'm hitting chest, I'll do something like a barbell bench press for reps (when I'm going heavy, I am for 6-8 reps to really get a good pump). I'll immediately after put the resistance band below me and bench press just that until I fail

    Everyone is different obviously, but this has really helped me to maintain my athleticism and explosiveness as i've gained muscle over the year, vs. just being big and bulky

    do you do like for example say your doing chest and your doing heavy and do only 6 reps but you know you can do 8 do you rest for a bit 15-20 secs then do like 2 more?

    i have done this for chest some bent over back rows and iv seen i can do more weight and be more explosive

    I’ve definitely done that. At this point though i just go until i can’t do a full rep then stop, I’ve f***ed up my chest too many times trying to push too much

    Besides Tuesday, just haven’t felt like goin fo the gym in the mornings this week BUUT been gettin comfortable with doing calisthenics outside in the afternoon

    Burpees too fye. I add those in on occasion if I’m trying to burn out at the end of my lift

  • Today I did

    3 x 12 deadlifts
    3 x 12 squats
    3 x 12 leg curls
    3 sets of lunges for 1 minute each
    1 set of 100 body weight squats
    1 set of pull ups to failure for the heck of it

    My knee is in bad shape so it started giving out towards the end of the body weight squats . Might take the day off tomorrow to not over exert it

    i wish more gyms had those straight bars there so much easier to do pull ups those other bars at the gym suck to use
