Those Athlean X memes like
Me: exists
Jeff: See here's where most people get it wrong
Are kind of true lmao. Now I'm checking every exercise in my routine to see if it's Jeff-approved
if you watching athlean x you gotta be a new lifter

Gatekeeping makes you look weak. Work that out of your system.

im not gatekeeping its just that athlean x is bs
he's known to do s*** wrong/spread misinformation and all his content is literally "breathing is killing your gains" "blinking is killing your gains"
there's way better channels i could put you on to bro if you'd like you don't gotta feel some type of way
we all start somewhere

Thanks g. I'm following a program by a different channel but lunges and squats have my knees hurting so I went looking for a solution and athlean x said to try reverse lunges instead of forward ones. Gave that a shot yesterday and didn't have knee pain. Jury is still out on the squats tho, I didn't do enough to really tell if I fixed that problem or not
Athleanx advice is typically mediocre at best and some of it is downright dangerous and will get you hurt if u lift heavy. Like his video on squat breathing is just horrible . He’s just a step better than VSHRED who’s just 100% bullshit. If you want good YouTube training advice stick with Jeff nippard, vitruvianphysique, Jeremy ethier, alphadestiny , Greg doucette(if u can handle his voice).
There’s a handful of others but those are some pretty mainstream ones that are pretty solid.
I'm sure. He has over 8 years of content, I can't expect him to be batting 1.000. Still, I've altered how I'm doing lunges and squats, both of which were hurting my knees before. And I scrapped upright rows for something different
I just do exclusively hanging Pendlay rows now.

Found out about Jeff Nippard this morning when I went looking for pre-workout meals. Hadn't heard of the rest until this post
Gonna start bullying my calves. Been ignoring these b****es too long. Juicy calves look sick
Happy w the gains i mafe these past months gonna go on a caloric deficit decrease volume & try to maintain intensity for a bit
Summer gon be there before u kno it
for me it's super squats.
second day for it and 215x20 went smoothly
Was super consistent with this and then some and got to 260x20 last Saturday. Over 100 pounds body weight
Currently in the process of moving halfway across the country so can’t hit the gym as consistently but 315 for 20 is in sight soon as I’m back.
Didn’t expect to enjoy this program so much
I switched from weights to resistance bands calisthenics and....wow, instead of overtraining certain parts to the point of failure like before now I can feel a sense of harmony
I'm not going to abandon weights completely, I still enjoy it, but calisthenics with bands now have at least a 3/7 spot in my week
overuse
if it has to do with the receptors then a reset might help but there's damaged nerves involved you might wanna visit a neurologist

Yeah something about calisthenics is just more challenging and satisfying
I remember doing it while the gyms were shutdown but since my grandparents moved in I have no room to do it

Sometimes breaks help
I took a one month long break when I hit a plateu and spent that month being a couch potato, eating garbage, etc and when the timing was right and I got back into shape my gains were double or even triple of what I could've gotten in that time period
so feel free to take your time.

wow, props for your composure
I dont even contemplate cold showers in jan/february lol
I used to stress a lot about how/when I rest/sleep/eat and stuff like that and through trial and error I've come to the conclusion that when my body really needs to, it wont give me space for arguing so I just do my part and let my body do the rest
