When a movie makes a billi they look at money over integrity lmao
You think the guy that made hangover 2 and 3 would know better by now
I don’t understand how anyone thought this film was boring tbh. Top 5 film this year easily. Amazing backstory imo to one of comics most known villains (whether or not it is THE joker). I don’t care for how much it borrowed from past films, it pulls it off incredibly well.

the only people who think its boring went it with their own expectations of what they thought the movie was gonna be based on the dark knight series
How so?
It just didn’t move me. I don’t really feel anyway about it. I don’t think I’d ever watch it again or recommend it. Like it wasnt bad, it just wasn’t for me I guess.

It’s disappointing because it didn’t move you?

Yeah like the movie is the equivalent to lukewarm water... could’ve been cold or even hot but it was just meh

yeah but I just don't get why you didn't like it is all. I've seen people say they didnt like it but it mostly boils down to 'its for losers' or 'its a worse version taxi driver' both of which are poor criticisms imo
Heath Ledger's Joker is clearly a mix of The Crow and Tom Waits
But I wonder...
Did Nolan want his Joker to echo the Crow from the getgo, and only cast Heath cause he would resemble the Crow in white face makeup with those type of mannerisms?
Also (and this may be a reach but it's important to note), TDK is for the most part a gothic 90s tribute crime film (this explains the references to Heat and The Long Halloween). But if you include the Joker in this...you know a popular 90s gothic crime film featuring an eccentric guy with lipstick and white face makeup?
The Crow.
I rewatched the crow a few weeks ago, for the first time since I was like 8. It amazed me how much it reminded me of ledger's joker.
