And that's a wrap
Next single player game I'll play probably Horizon since I never finished it when it came out.
Next JRPG stuck deciding between Ys Origin, Dragon Quest 11, and Xenoblade Chronicles (1) I think they all long as s***
finished hajimari no kiseki recently. not a fan of some of the plot points but pretty fun overall, 8/10
thinking about 13 sentinels or yakuza 7 next, not sure which.
ys ix tomorrow
not too sure when i'll get around to playing it though
edit: apparently crashes on PS5

how in the hell did that happen
just copped though. need something to hold me over until p5s.
Just finished the main campaign for Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood; each expansion to this game just feels like another season of great TV. I can't believe this level of storytelling exists in an MMO of all genres.
Can't wait to get in to Shadowbringers.

if you liked stormblood, i think you'll be blown away by shadowbringers. thought stormblood was very just "ok". shadowbringers' story is insanely good man. hope you enjoy it.

Stormblood doesn't quite reach the narrative heights of Heavensward, but it still kept me hooked the whole time and there was a good bit of interesting character work. I've only heard great things about Shadowbringers.

think part of it for me was, i just never really cared about the empire. lyse also really doesn't do a ton for me, unfortunately
though i will say, i enjoyed the dungeons quite a bit.
what class are you playing?

Lyse is the main character of Stormblood, so if you aren't invested in her then I guess everything else in the expansion's narrative might fall flat. She's always been one of my favourite Scions so I enjoyed seeing her character be fleshed out, and I thought Fordola and Yotsuyu served as effective foils for her.
Currently playing as a bard. I just chose the class that I thought had the coolest outfit when I made my character.

unfortunately, i got burnt out and stopped towards the end of stormblood since i just blitzed through ARR and heavensward within the same month. coming back, really didn't remember too much, so i wanna blame some of my indifference (for lack of a better term lol) of stormblood on that. however, i am a huge fan of the yotsuyu plot. pretty cool stuff in there.
how're you liking the bard? actually never really thought about trying out that job. the most i really see of them are just ppl in limsa playing songs
thinking about it now, i really wish i could play through shadowbringers for the first time again
actually crazy excited to see what they announce with this showcase on friday: na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/ea919f53e4328cbd5b4126d90d0e2873ec19fab3

I can’t compare bard to any of the other classes but I like it a lot. It's really simple to play; all you really have to manage is keeping a song up and applying dots.
I’m considering playing through everything again on new game plus so I can refresh myself on the story before getting in to Shadowbringers, but I’m afraid I’ll end up burning out.

ah okay, that's about the same reason i went for red mage. probably one of the easiest classes to play, uses magic & melee, and has some support utility. though when i first started playing, i believe i went with gladiator then switched it up once i hit 50.
do you know how the ng+ stuff works? personally, i think it'd be fine if it's just the main quests with the clutter/filler quests cut out. i know they removed a number of those quests in ARR, but not too sure how it is first hand.
worst case, you could just watch a recap video. would hate to see you burn out at the best part of the game

Yeah, new game plus is just for main scenario quests. You'd also be doing it with flying unlocked and high level gear so going through it all should be a breeze.

oh that doesn't seem too bad then. might as well give it a go if you're itching for it
