It's a slow burn type of combat system for sure. Everybody basically fighting their own battles w the Gambit system is a cool concept but waiting and watching isn't always fun since most bosses are just bullet sponges. That s*** can take forever.

First time. I'm planning to start DQXI after I beat it. Playing two JRPGs at once is borderline impossible for me but I'm tempted to do it now

no way in hell could i play two JRPGs at the same time, i usually get too caught up into one before wanting to start another.

The crisp direction in this scene is the work of Jun Akiyama, who is probably one of the finest event planners/directors that ever worked at Square. He also worked on VII and the original Kingdom Hearts (among other games), and was supposed to work on Versus XIII before it was reworked in to XV. Unfortunately he hasn't appeared on many credits since then.

Dump the replay and play something fresh

I HAVE to play another game along side lengthy JRPGs. Somehow that other game ends up being a hrpg from time to time. Helps keep me from burning out on either one and if I get stuck in one I just head over to the other til I am ready to go back.

Most the time I cant do to jrpgs though. I need a shooter or something to go along with them

I just looked him up, his catalogue is extremely impressive for sure. I've heard excellent things about Vagrant Story and Tactics in particular. I can only hope XVI can be of similar quality considering the team behind it

Unit III has done a stellar job with XIV so I'm optimistic about XVI. I also like the confidence Square has shown in dropping the teaser without any fanfare, and I think they've learned from their mistakes in announcing games too early in advance like they did with XV and VII Remake.

yeah the junction system is annoying but you can do a lot of crazy s*** with it and break the game early on. definitely one of my least favorite FF systems.

Yeah I copped all the 3/DS games now cause they’ve been rising in value pretty quickly, heard lots of good things about them so I’m excited. Probably gonna take me a few years to get through them im ready
