Painted my side panels to my PC started sanding my panels with 800 grit sandpaper and then went over it with self etching primer and let it cook for 2 hours in the sun. Went back over it with wet sandpaper and a sponge and smoothed out the imperfections prepping it for 2 coats of base paint and one coat of clear gloss let it sit outside all day yesterday.

fast forward to today i used 2 compound polish passes and 3 polywax compound passes and buffed the panels individually and ended up with this result.

    Looks really nice. Good job

my parents helping me w/ my first build as a grad present.

some of what i got picked out so far

    AMD ryzen 3 3100
    MSI B450 TOMAHAWK
    XFX Radeon RX 570
    16 gb RAM
    480 SSD
    corsair cx750 power supply
Cooler Master MasterBox MB511 ARGB ATX Case

What's your budget? Looks like you have some nice parts picked out. My only gripe would be that a 750 watt power supply is overkill for a Ryzen 3 3100 and a Radeon RX 570.

yeah this joint is a gigabit router solely copped for future proofing love how i can simultaneously use both my vpn and my real connection at the same time and filtering out bad pings etc it's called the Asus Rapture if you're interested in it.

that psu is alot of overhead for that build in particular I'd go for a 450-600 plat.

    Yeah sweet thanks!

Im very new to pc parts so been watching a couple builds on youtube, also ran it on pcpartspicker & everything was compatable.

I just threw on a mid ranged psu not really knowing what i needed. But youre right, it’s saying my needs are <400

& as far as price its around 1000$ CAD for everything i have listed so far. Which is right around budget

Just need a monitor & fans.

The processor comes with a fan, but i probably need 2-3 more right?

I think 550W is perfect for you, possibly 650W if you think you're going to be upgrading in the future

I don't know how good the 3100's stock fan is, so yeah I'd recommend at least 2 more fans. Be Quiet! Has great fans for low prices as long as you don't care about RGB

started getting parts for my first build, I don't know much about this stuff but i've done some research and found this to suit me.

    -Ryzen 7 3700X
    -MSI B450 Tomohawks Max ATX
    -Patriot Viper Steel 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
    -Crucial MX500 2TB 2.5" SSD
-Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super 8GB Windforce OC 3X
-Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower
-Corsair TXM Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX
-Arctic F12 PWM PST 120 mm Fans 5-Pack
    -Asus VG249Q 23.8" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor

What y'all think? is the psu overkill? or would some external things make use of the extra wattage, like idk dacs, amps or midis.

I've got the gpu, fans and monitor ordered and I'm ordering the rest next week. Is there anything else I'm missing? I have an anti-static band, multibit screwdriver and usb drive ordered

looks like a great build, that should be everything you need

if you think you’ll get a gpu with more power usage later the psu is fine but you could def do 550-600

external usb stuff doesn’t use very much power

Alright, so here's what is going on:

Water cooler is a 3-pin connector, but the motherboard only has 4-pin sockets. I should be fine right?

This cord is way too short, I wanna tuck it around the CPU to make it look neater but I can't. It's really bothering me.

Thinking I might have to buy a vertical mout, too scared to try putting the gpu on the first slot. Looks like it's gonna crush my memory sticks if I try to press on it.

    Need expert suggestions here.

I bought an ASUS tuf gaming VG249Q IPS monitor that ended up having a dead pixel, exchanged it for a new one and now this one has backlight bleed on the right side. Do I return it and try to get another of the same or should I look into a TN monitor or a different IPS?
