Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I figured it out. Everything's booting up now, but now there's no display showing on my monitor not getting any POST beeps either so I have no idea what the issue could be now.

hmm I've had that happen when the power cables aren't seated all the way in somewhere (usually on the gpu or the one next to the cpu)

yeah if it's not beeping it really seems like a gpu issue or maybe the cmos, I'd take out the battery for the cmos if you haven't already and try booting it up if all the cables look good

Does your case have any room on the other side panel to hide cables there?

Nah. This is my case amzn.to/32aK6qJ

Make sure your ram sticks are in the proper DIMM slots according to your MOBO requirements.

Make sure your RAM is compatible with your mobo and that your mobo is on the current bios update.

Pretty tough situation. I'm upgrading my GPU from a 2060 because I really hate the card. Originally I was thinking of a 2080 Super but it doesn't really seem like a good enough value. So then I was looking at the 2070 Super and it seems like an incredible value. Well now I'm aware of the 5700xt at $100 less than the 2070 Super which seems like an amazing deal. So I'm leaning towards that AMD card now.

Other thing is upgrading my mobo from a B350 Gaming Pro Carbon to an x570 board, mainly looking for more sata ports like 6-8 minimum. There's the x570 TUF board that is really enticing at only $180 with 8 sata ports but only 3 chasis fan headers which is f***ing whack. x570 might be more than I need anyways, but it sure would be nice to pick up a PCIE4 NVME drive one day.

idk what to do. advice on the gpu and mobo situation?

For the gpu I’d wait to see what AMD unveils during the ces conference, their card is dubbed the “Nvidia killer” by leakers who know about it so wait to see the performance.

Motherboard I’d go with an x470 highend board the prices are dropping additionally you could also look into the b450 boards, do you really need pcie4 ? Are you ever actually gonna use that much bandwidth fully ? If not skip it no reason to spend the money.

Sadly I just don't have the patience for the CES conference to happen, founders cards getting released, and then finally aftermarket cards being available. My opinion on the AMD cards has since gone down after finding out about the poor VR performance in comparison to the 2070 Super.

I certainly don't need the pice4, but I do really want to get some of those pcie4 SSD's. I could definitely look into the b450 boards but I'm just worried about the potential in not being able to overclock to the max ability like how I can't on my current b450. I'll definitely look into the x470 boards though. I'm going to buy everything at Microcenter and it seems they've mostly just been carrying x570 so my options may be pretty limited.

Microcenter has a small selection of x470 boards that are cheap just check the website for your local MC
