One interesting thing is that my case (coolermaster) wants me to plug in a SATA cable into the MOBO because there's this like centralized board built in the case that can control the fans, kind of interesting
Yeah this is actually so much simpler than I thought after doing some more reading and talking to you guys
Yeah once you get the whole picture it makes sense. Seeing all the cables and pins everywhere can get overwhelming tho especially since you're not using a sata drive meaning you'll get some conflicting info online.
Hope the build works out for you man!

Amazing. Super crisp and fluid. Not rly planning on upgrading it for another few years, at least until my GPU gets outdated. Next GPU upgrade, I wanna upgrade to ultrawide 1440p 144Hz. GPUs aren't powerful enough yet to do that consistently tho.
I know you're still waiting on your cpu, but fyi when you boot up your computer for the first time, you have to change the refresh rate manually to 144Hz within Windows display settings. Some people never change this and play on 60Hz without realizing

Hz (Hertz) is your monitors refresh rate and determines how smooth the image on your screen can be. You can think of it frames per second of a game, where a higher fps is smoother. While a monitor doesn't help you get a higher fps (the power of your computer determines this), it determines what is the maximum fps that you can actually see.
Someone who plays at 144fps on a 60Hz monitor will only see the game at 60fps, because the monitor cannot show anything more than that. Your monitor is 144hz, so you will benefit if you play at higher framerates.
Here's a decent vid

Also, windows 10 is already free. As long as you have another computer, you can download the windows 10 install kit, put it on a usb, and install it on your new computer. Only thing is that free versions have a small watermark in the bottom corner and don't let you change the wallpaper, but its fully featured. You could even get the full version through some piracy tricks after installing the free version
My cooler looks like it's going to be shipped today I can start building soon. I can play Elden Ring finally.
got a Ryzen 5 5600G, what’s the best choice of GPU to pair with between a 6600XT and 3060?
purpose: 1080p gaming favouring streaming
Damn. Seeing the BIOS load up made me so damn happy. Thing is so quiet but I haven't stressed it yet.
All in all for my first build everything went well. Everything is so modernized. Just follow a guide /multiple guides and you will succeed. You just get a bit nervous on how fragile everything seems.
I thought the screwdriver I bought was magnetic. It was not.

I don't have a window on my case so I just kinda throw it all together without concern for aesthetics

3060 has a better software stack (DLSS, and better RTX). 6600xt is more powerful in raw terms.
if you want to use NVENC for streaming (and with 6 cores you might want to, but idk about how streaming is these days) then you go with the 3060. if you want to go x264 then the 6600xt will work fine.
if it was up to me, i'd get whatever is significantly cheaper between the two. that said, i'd really get a 3060ti if it isn't significantly more expensive than either of those two cards, like less than $80 more.
