use Freenas for my file system and a Ubuntu Server with an i3 8100 for the Plex server

get the media from jails I run under Freenas, I use Sonarr and Radarr for auto scheduling the downloads.. setup Jackett for rss feed searches on torrent sites and I use another jail that has all it's traffic routed thru a openvpn port for running the torrent client via a firewall script I setup

going to switch to Unraid at some point for my Plex cause I like that all the drives don't need to run, Freenas eats thru drives but it is faster

Plex has been so buttery smooth since I got it off Windows tho

Have a 256gb nvme drive I cache thumbnails for timeline previews and everything else but I transcode to 16gb of ram to save some wear on the nvme drive

Nope. Sure your PC is fine, just make sure to go to settings and mess with the Streaming quality and bit rate depending on your network connection.

If you have a certain data limit make sure to check that and keep an eye on your data usage so you don't accidentally set it too high and hit your cap.

If you’re using torrents then use this just point to where your torrents are and plex will do all the metadata for you so you can watch your torrents on your tv, Xbox, phone, whatever

best situation would be both. at that point it wouldnt even use any wifi and it would send it all via the ethernet at 1gbps

They finally added a skip intro button

It automatically scans the audio of a season and finds a consistent match (theme song) and then allows you to skip it.

I’ve tested it on game of thrones, the wire, Simpson’s, dragon ball z. It all works flawlessly

Thank you plex for adding a good feature.
