Does running on an elliptical machine at the gym count
I usually do 2 miles, 3 days a week so 6 miles a week
Did a mile run to test where I’m at back on November 1st and I ran a 6:34. Was shocked cus I wasn’t expecting to get that good a time. Last time I remember a timed mile and remember what I got was 5th grade lol (I got like 9:30 lol)
Gonna do another one on Friday (December 1st) to see if I can beat that time 6:34 time!
Ran 2 5ks this year and I’m proud of that. Wanna up my running in a responsible way next year. I really got in a groove this summer and ran myself into tendinitis(?)
This year I learned that running is actually a fun activity though. A mile isn’t actually that far of a distance either. 26.2 is a whole other story
Finally got some Nike Running Tights and an Aeroloft Jacket.
Waiting on a fleece headband and a neck warmer.
Ready for these cold runs.

Just did a 10k with these on in 36 degree weather and highly recommend both.
The Nike running tights 717408-010 are $90 new. You can get them on eBay for like $20-30.
The Aeroloft Jacket, CU7792-XXX(Last 3 digits is color. 743 is yellow, 624 is Maroon, 010 is black), is $250 brand new. You can get on eBay for like $60-70.
I tend to buy shoes, socks, and compression shorts new. Anything else I go the “used but not abused” route on eBay. Saves a ton of money.
Alright boys I'm doing it. Running a marathon in 2024. I'm thinking half marathon late April / early May and a full marathon in October? That's the plan anyway. Anyone know of any October 2024 marathons I can still sign up for?
Bought some things ahead of spring. StromFit running pants and jacket. Also a running poncho.
Also bought a Coros Pace 2 and a Garmin HRM for real cheap. It will probably work better than my old Apple Watch 4 for logging runs.
Plan on buying some new shoes when I get back from vacation.
Been consistently running about 6 miles per week for the past few months and got a pair of saucony tempus and a flipbelt for christmas
i been doing a ruck on the weekend. i feel like ive finally internalized just how slowly i need to progress to actually make consistent progress and this is part of it. did 3.2miles @ 17min pace with a 30lb pack on Sunday.
little bit of elevation too and my glutes was mega sore for a couple days after so thats how i know my form is good. no longer getting the intense soreness in my shin muscles so thats also good. think imma try and stick to a tues/thurs run and one ruck on sat or sun. just keep building up real slow like
hit a lil 1.5m run this morning. 9min pace in that final half mile. slowly building up that speed. cant wait to see where im at by the summer, and then by next winter
actually planning on starting this once it gets warmer
i started going for walks last year and i love that s***

Been doing nothing but zone 2 training for 60 minutes almost everyday. Mainly because of achilles tendonosis.
Finally got another pair of shoes. Got some ASICS Magic Speed 2s for workout/speed days. Gonna use my Nimbus 25s for Easy/Long days. Ill probably buy another pair of both as sales get better.
Back to mixing it up.
2 mile easy jog
Then 1 min 5k pace then 1 min easy pace for 30 minutes.
Then finishing with a easy jog till I hit 60 minutes altogether.
Did a 60 minute recovery run today. First time with the Coros Pace 2. For about 10 minutes it wasn’t checking my heart rate correctly and I wasn’t sure if it was just my Apple Watch 4 being wrong or what. So I was doing a pretty quick pace up until the watch finally adjusted itself. Other than that the rest is perfect, I’m digging the metrics. The HR shouldnt be an issue going further since I got my Garmin HR monitor now.

This is the craze so far. How did you find it? I want to do it but I feel like I’m not working hard enough if that makes sense

Yea, it’s f***ing tedious but people swear by it. I think it’s harder to do than to just go balls out and haul ass.
You really need a watch that can measure your heartbeat per minute. An Apple Watch can if you got it. Then you just stick to that zone the entire time. It helps build your aerobic base with the lowest physiological cost, so when you do workout at higher intensities, you are using less energy. It also prevents injury which allows you to workout more and get more miles in throughout your week.
I’m sure there’s more articles that go in greater detail than I can.
