What an arrogant b****.
She has been in nothing but trash so far. Except from maybe Nope, havent seen it yet.
Whole comparion is ridiculous. Only thing that matters for mainstream success/audience is looks and to that audience she just looks like a common black woman.
Eat s*** and choke on it dumbass
Zendaya has light skin privilege + pretty privilege. Her height also contributes to her popularity.
Zendaya is also marketed as a "love interest" in her movies..and those type movies are aimed at a mostly white demographic that will have the lead w/ a pretty light skinned chick or white chick 9/10 times (e.g. Dune/Spiderman).
Colorism has most def had an influence on both of their career paths. To what extent is debatable.
Zendaya can't act anyway

Idk if I’d say zendaya straight up can’t act, but she’s certainly gassed and keke is leagues ahead of her
Who tf is NBAgladiator and why would anybody spend energy on opinions about their tweet?

Yeah, she's serviceable. I just can't see her carrying a movie as the best actor on the screen ever.
I hate this thread and all the twitter 'news,' especially ESPECIALLY around cinema. I mentioned it in some other thread but I feel like I never got into movies as a proper hobby because of the discourse around it. and its not a new thing neither, been like that for decades at this point. just watching is cool, maybe some light discussion, but any sort of a***ysis or writing on it -- out the window for me
the media wheel just keeps churning and there's no way out if you still wanna visit any forums and that
They always tryna put black people against one another. Sad
Keke & Zendaya legends
In this case they is black folk themselves
You do realize that it’s still colorism to imply that she only got those roles because of her complexion right?
Ain’t no one want to hear about the light stereotype side of colorism
Unfortunately. Us pretty lightskins just gotta eat it and keep it pushing
Neither of them showed me elite movie acting yet, I saw nope. Both are talented….
God bless keke but she had a terrible fake sleep scene in there
I haven’t seen any work they’ve done that was better than Janelle Monae and Naomi Harris in Moonlight.

An unintended consequence of the decline of black cinema. If there was a big culturally black movie every couple months instead of every 8-16 months people wouldn’t overreact as much
2015, keke Palmer lead role for a movie. Didn’t make 1 million at the box office.
Niggas don’t even support their people unless they’re wearing a big flashy mainstream sign.
Not many folks saw Sorry to bother you in theaters but they love talking about the clip on Twitter.
Keke Palmer co-starred in a samuel jackson movie at 14 and co-starred in a Jennifer lopez movie three years ago. She has a great career.
?
thats the reality of it, if keke was sexy af like zendaya shed be poppin

She is.
I'll still never understand what y'all see in Zendaya bruh. I really don't. But I guess y'all are just into women built like 13-14 year old girls. Hope y'all figure out whatever that is and leave us out of it.
She is.
https://twitter.com/ear2021/status/1551355663724515330need her so badly
Niggas can't even name 5 dark skin actresses, let alone Black actresses who are even offered the same roles and are just as successful as some of these beige shortys.
Zoe Kravitz told yall s*** racist out here

Ehh I feel you but it's definitely a good amount of very successful and well respected darkskin actresses. Viola Davis, Angela Basset, Cicely Tyson, Whoopi Goldberg, and Regina King are the first ones who always come to mind for me. Depending on what your scale is for dark skin and brown skin I also include Kerry Washington, Regina Hall, Loretta Devine, Pam Grier, and Alfre Woodard.
The roles they get in comparison to the lightskin actresses are definitely different won't disagree there. But...I've grown up watching much more darkskin actresses than light skin actresses. But that could be because those dark and brown skin actresses are often casted in more Black centric films, and those are what I grew up with. They Black All-Stars

Your second point was where I was getting at.
