i don’t like the term either. op asked what it meant i told him
🤡
and i assume it’s mostly for people who live in those countries
Fair enough
its a bullshit term, especially due to other POC hating black people just as much as whites
Gandhi is the Nelson Mandela to South Asians and he thought that Africans were sub-human so that should already tell you a lot.

WOW
that’s a BANGER

To be fair that's because that's what they teached him in the UK , later in his life he wasn't racist
It's the same thing as when whites used to call non-whites "colored people", except now it's used by bourgeoisie intellectual-yet-idiot black and brown kids to feel like they're in an exclusive minority club
There is no such thing as a person of color. These are all legal terms. Minority, black, color etc. white.
I hate it because it groups all non-white people together. I can’t tell you how many rich ass Asian people come up to me and act like we’re going through the same struggle because of that “people of color” s***.
11 tribes of Israel .
Asians & whites are not part of that .
Whites are devils . Yakubs.
Not to say there aren’t any good devils out there . But nonetheless devils .
We have a sun .
The chosen ones are blessed by the sun (melanin) . Stop doesn’t mean devils can’t be good people .
U can’t help u were born a devil 🤷🏽♀️😒.

It's a stupid term.
All "People of color" didn't and do not have the same experiences. It's like some lazy terminology when people don't want to get specific on what they're talking about.
While all "People of color" suffer from racism in the western world depending on various factors that doesn't automatically make everyones experiences the same.
I do kind of have less issue with the term BIPOC, which stands for Black, Indigenous & other people of color which centers Black/Indigenous folks who have a specific history with colonial violence that requires specificity in these kinda of conversations. It was created to stop subsuming of Black/Indigenous struggles under "POC".
there’s really no objective way to reconcile whose group had it worse
native americans got genocided and betrayed at every turn for centuries
vietnamese/cambodian/laotian got bombed, agent oranged, and still deal with undetonated bombs/mines
chinese/japanese were brought to hawaii/mainland to do menial backbreaking labor for pennies and then were kicked out once the railroads were finished
and yes, africa was raped, enslaved, and exploited
thing is, if you talked to people from any of these other groups who underwent these experiences, how willing do you think they’d be to just shrug off their hardship and admit that Blacks had it worse
or we could just keep playing oppression olympics like crabs in a bucket
This is a bad take but I'll bite anyway.
Comparing and contrasting struggle like this is very surface level and counterproductive.
This is also the idea that everyone struggles are the same just because they struggled which is just dishonest. I have sympathy for everyone who suffers but all suffering is not the same, and acknowledging that is perfectly fine.
This is the exact type of s*** that makes "POC" a reductive term and it leads to comments like this.
