American mentality is exceptional in that.

Ideally it should be a cap on how much wealth one could earn. The existence of multi billionaires while ppl are starving should make the human conscience angry. The inevitable slew of replies disputing this will just prove my point

they effectively made every class of people below them feel like they are burdens and have to oppress those below to get ahead cause they are just playing the system right, some actually do understand and don’t want to think about it cause “holds them back”
make those with luxuries want to protect it w violence if necessary , make people dumber so they won’t listen when the signs are right there, make people think that things are worse in other countries so we should just be grateful and shut up. this s*** runs deep

I net $5600 a month. With utilities I pay about $1500 a month WITH a roommate. I have a car loan, two hefty credit card bills from the years when I didn't have a steady income, a credit consolidation loan, a $250 student loan payment and then groceries and such.

But I still manage to save $500-$750 a month. I definitely would not say I'm irresponsible with my money. I was irresponsible with my money when I was younger and I'm doing my best with my current situation.

Which I'm not satisfied in, by the way. If I'm not at work teaching I'm on my music grind. I don't sleep much. I just want better for myself and my daughter and it's hard to do that in this economy.

    Choking

lol most amerikkkans living paycheque to paycheque are just middle classers living above their means

If you go on debt free Reddit and see everyone trying to get their way out of debt it’s ridiculous

You’ll see people in debt with expense breakdowns, they have debt going back years and then all of a sudden you’ll see a $500 car note for a 2023 car lmao like why tf are you buying a brand new car if you’re already tryna get out of debt?

So many subscriptions, expensive phone plans instead of pre paid, eating out, etc

Definitely wayyyyy too many people living above their means and try to blame it on the system or something when they’re biting their own selves in the ass with their spending habits

making 8000 a month in NC and single is literally living like a entry level bachelor especially if your income increases from there

Beyond bachelor if you actually live within or below your means. But they pay that there due to the cost of living lmaoo

    Bro said nyc.

Yeah no wonder 50 an hour aint livable when you live in the top 2 most expensive usa areas along with bayarea.

As someone that used to live in the bay, there are 48 other states. Move.

I’ve been doing budgeting for a $90k base salary in Texas and honestly it’s looking viable

The harsh truth is that we want to be able to spoil ourselves with whatever we want whenever we want (which I’m very guilty of so I get it) and that’s when s*** gets out of hand. And quite frankly it would take a SUBSTANTIAL increase in salary, like $250k+ before one could get away with being undisciplined financially.

But a modest apartment, $30-$35 a day for food is very doable and other basic expenses with plenty left over to save on $50/hr is doable. Granted i bought a beater car in all cash so that helps a little

That’s maxing 401(k)/Roth IRA money for sure, assuming you’re not including any bonuses on top of that

there's ppl making like 60k in nyc idk bout 104k being minimum

The people that make 60k usually have roommates tho, if they ever want to save up money in any reasonable manner. No way you can get by 60k by yourself unless you tryna live in the hood , and those NYC hoods are no joke.
