if u play with level caps (cant get higher than the level of the next gym leader highest pokemon) or however u want to do it, the exp share is great since it forces you to play with like 12-18 pokemon instead of the usual 6, but still it should have been optional

When I played this last week I had no issue with the exp share either. My Pokemon were all pretty leveled out by the elite four. I had to grind a bit because Cynthia is a monster

You only need 2000 steps to reach the happiness to evolve. Budew evolve during the day once the happiness requirement is reached.
