Im pretty sure the lack (actually the removal, which is worse imo) of a simple toggle is the only problem people have with it. The frustration comes from years of build up after insane decisions like locking difficulty modes behind version exclusives and their weird obsession with competing with mobile games through casualization.

The exp share is fine and very useful at certain points in the game, but they have no idea how to consistently balance accessibility and convenience with an actually challenging rewarding experience.
