Wow. No f***ing s***.
This makes so much sense, and I can appreciate both games a little more realizing this. Appreciate this post
started playing Arceus last night and that big ass Rapidash spooked me
was catching a bunch of Ponyta and it appeared out of no where
any other hack roms y'all guys reccomend? unbound the goat
Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 Redux is dropping today and is a ROM hack of the original games with Gen 8 stats and types added. They also made the games more challenging but not broken like hard ROM hacks like emerald kaizo.
Pokemon Renegade Platinum is also dope
Pokemon Moon Black 2 is a ROM hack that adds Gen 6-7 to a ROM hack of Black 2. Also updates the story as well.
arceus would be better if it had more of that BOTW exploration, at least being able to climb or jump
makes the world feel much less explorable

You can both jump and climb with some of the Pokémon Mounts that you get as part of the story though.

I think he means you can't do that stuff from the start. You have to wait hours in to get the climbing Pokemon.

The thing is Arceus isn't trying to be BOTW. It's trying to be Monster Hunter.

Sheesh you still in the early part of the game lmao

Nah the only thing comparable is the way you switch items. I don't get this comparison at all. Something like Bloodborne and elden ring have way more in common with monster hunter.

What are you talking about? You're not being serious right? Lmao Bloodborne and Elden Ring legit has zero in common with Monster hunter. I'm on my 4th playthrough of Elden Ring and it plays nothing like Monster Hunter lmao. Have you played Arceus or even monster hunter? PLA is literally pound for pound just like Monster Hunter and not in anyway like BOTW
-Hub world
-Get missions from hub world
-Even has the exact same mission board structure of which mission is difficult before you take it.
-Psuedo-open world
-Map navigation that takes you to exactly where the mission objective is.
-Monster collecting and a bestiary
-Giant special monsters
-Tools for neutralizing a monster before battle
-Rideable monsters
-Crafting tools
-A pretty cut together story about people that settled on to a new continent or "world"(surprise surprise just like every monster hunter game ever)
-The battles against the frenzy hisuian pokemon is even exactly straight out of monster hunter where you have to do a small battle to put them to sleep or do enough damage to stagger them to do major damage to them.
Legends Arceus is literally Monster Hunter with a Pokemon skin and capturing abilities.
Now show me in that list how Elden Ring has a hub world where you get missions to go kill monsters, have to do a mini game battle to weaken bosses before killing them, and has a fake open world. The most souls games have in common with Monster hunter is customization, rolling mechanic (which is just one of many different gameplay functions) and in elden rings case crafting.
Monster Hunter and PLA damn near even have the same HUD and item inventory screen too. PLA even has the camp site from monster hunter where you can sleep to restore HP, access a treasure box, access the menu to change which campanion cat comes with you(MH:World) and craft at your camp site(including food). It's no way you see this game and think this isn't Monster hunter.

Im dead ass in monster hunter you observe the monster and learn his patterns and probably get the d*** whilst doing it. That's literally what you do in Bloodborne. And you fight big ass f***ing bosses that have unique movesets. I havent played much elden ring but I'm p sure there's big ass bosses you have to learn how to fight in it. combat in mh and Bloodborne are also kinda similar dodging is your main evasion and everything feels weighty. Pokemon has bosses you throw balms at?? Lmfao you figure out what to do damn near instantly. Arceus seems like it's mostly about catching to me. Bloodborne and monster hunter are focused on combat and cot damn is that s*** good. I don't recall hunting s*** in Pokemon, sure you can dodge roll but I ain't stabbing or cutting a cot damn thing.

Maybe because that s*** is a good way of handling that. Just cause you manage inventory in a similar way doesn't mean the game plays similar. Managing inventory sucks in Arceus kinda tbh. In monster hunter you make class and inventory loadouts streamlining the f*** out of it.
Imagine using monster hunters story as a point no one plays that s*** for the story we just want to hunt monsters and take there material and craft armor. If I could craft Charizard and Blastoise armor I would've been done that s***.
Ain't no insect glaive in Arceus ain't no f***ing dual blade. At least Bloodborne has sickles and a f***ing great sword. Inventory and some other s*** might be similar you make some decent points I guess but as someone who plays a s*** load of monster hunter this idea has never even crossed my mind.

Kinda strange that you’ve don’t see the clear cut MH influence from PLA. Hell even the art aesthetics is influenced by monster hunter.
Monster hunter identity isn’t just hunting monsters and studying their movement patterns .
And the only similarity with Mh and souls games is only a third person action game.

Polished Crystal the definitive retro Pokemon experience and its still growing.
Prism up there too.
Been messing around with Enhanced Emerald. It has open world with several story paths, crafting, factions, and other interesting things on top of the usual balancing changes. Pretty cool, but rough around the edges. It seems promising.

The bosses the fact you have to observe them learn there attack patterns to beat them..

BW2 Redux out?
You try it yet?
I can't think of a game with more similar combat to mh it's gotta be Bloodborne

It kinda is hunt monster over and over make cool armor to hunt bigger monster rinse and repeat

You also feel heavy in both games too and every action you take has to be precise and deliberate

I don’t really consider regular monsters as boss enemies when their are clearly boss type elder dragons monsters in the game.
And like I said before there’s more to learning attack patterns. You can learn enemy attack patterns in a game like DMC.
But you specifically hunt monsters over and over for parts to craft weapons. Souls games there are already specific weapons out there and there is only one way to upgrade them , compared to extra crafting in MH like gem slotting
You’re focused on comparing the action but there’s more to Mh that’s not in souls games.
I have never played a souls game and felt like it played like Mh because they don’t .
