You can transfer one over from Sword & Shield, but it's not obtainable in SV lol

Can I get an infernape or typhlosion?

Those are 2 of my favorites. Thought about getting Arceus but the typhlosion in that one has a s***ty look.

No. There is no starters obtainable in the game outside the Gen 9 starters. They will be available to get via home later though.

Should also note that not every hisuian Pokemon is available in the game either.

Ruby and Sapphire has a really interesting development and so does Pokemon Colosseum. Did y'all know that Ruby/Sapphire was originally meant to be a hard reboot of the series? It's why Gen 3 has the most designed Pokemon and originally nothing but Gen 3 Pokemon.

highly recommend Coromon if you’re looking for an old school Pokémon game. it’s got hard mode and insane mode which has nuzlocke rules too

30+ hour story and it’s filled with interesting puzzles and doesn’t have the things that make modern games too easy like exp share

DO NOT get your hopes up. If the leaks are true this seems pretty underwhelming for a game. Especially coming Legends arceus

Features removed or limited in Scarlet & Violet

-No legends Arceus style battling or catching
-Breeding removed for some picnic gimmick
-online battling is super barebones
-no level curve (So gym battles can become completely lopsided since they can be battled out of order)
-limited character customization
-Past/future form of Pokemon take up a Pokedex slot and have their own dex number. Something they never did with regional variants or forms.

This isn't even everything. I forgot some stuff, but while this may be a step up from S/S it's a complete step down from legends Arceus mechanic wise.

Yeah it's a school for the story mode, but it's not always at school from what I read.
