Wait what how does that make sense?

Is it generation 9 like scarlet and violet then? Was arceus generation 8?

That feels so weird because don't legends game play so differently? I haven't played legends or gen 9 so I guess I just don't know

Also I kinda wish they would change up the art style/direction of the game. Don't need anything drastic, but it's current iteration that i've seen in Sw/Sh, and Violet etc, is just abysmal tbh. I'm not even a graphics w****, and I ain't saying s*** that ain't been said by others before who actually still play these games. But it's just unacceptable the level of mediocrity that Nintendo allows them to operate at.

Damn I feel like SV had some crazy ass designs with the whole "polar opposite" historical s*** tbf plus those knight ass looking ones

Swsh art styles sucked ass that's why they keep pushing wooloos all over the place cause they only kinda don't look like s***

    The language is super vague

I think all it means is that they consider legends to be more than just a spin-off but it won’t introduce a new gen like the traditional mainline series

Whatever it means, it’s a good sign and means they’re giving this a bigger budget and taking it more seriously, probably because of the positive response to the first Legends game

I feel you but at this point anyone interested by that game probably already have a switch right ?

You have to remember parents buying their kids a switch for Christmas. A whole generation will be turning 5-6 this year lol. I bought my daughter her first switch last Christmas lol

Because the Legends games are essentially their way of doing a remake. They're connected to the main series lore but also considered adding on to the lore. Spin off games stories don't connect to the main series games. They usually do their own thing and then randomly mention a character from the main series.

Legends Z-A is Generation 9. Just like Legends: Arceus is Generation 8.

Besides battles styles mechanic that was added to battles and the catching without battles there's really no difference between legends and Scarlet and Violet.

    do these count as remakes?

    do these count as remakes?

    I wouldnt think so

They’re all still in the same generation, art style and engine as their counterparts

  • maxxing

    yellow, crystal, emerald, platinum

    do these count as remakes?

    Nah they’re just content updates

Those games would be DLC updates in 2024. Like how Pokémon is currently doing just that on Switch instead of a 3rd version

  • maxxing

    yellow, crystal, emerald, platinum

    do these count as remakes?

no, they're standalone versions called "upper versions"
they make changes to the story from the original versions and expand on them while also adding qol features
i wouldn't call them dlc either because they fundamentally change the way the game is played from the beginning

No those are version enhancements. Not even remasters but games that bring the entire vision of that generation into a final build. Fixing bugs, adding new content, QOL features, change some routes, etc.

Pokemon Blue is also in this category as it's a enhancement for Red and Green. It fixed sprites, gave us different routes, changed cerulean cave, changed trainer levels, changed Pokemon locations, etc.

  • Man I love how positive the reaction has been to Legends ZA

    F*** them mainline generation games

Them mainline pseudo sequel / prequel / remake Legends Pokémon style games is where it’s at

    Pokémon is so back

  • anyone here got a complete collection of mainline games?

This is honestly the most excited I’ve been for a Pokémon game since Arceus

Love all the theories and every small bit of thorough research all the Pokémon fans do

So damn excited for next year

are the tweets satire??? I’m so lost? Like of course the legendaries from X&Y are in the the X&Y legends game.

“It’s so subtle but this little hint tells us something that’s glaringly obvious…“

Yeah it’s obvious the XY legendaries will be in ZA but it’s still fun and exciting to speculate HOW they will be used

This isn’t a typical remake so anything can happen tbh

Recently I finished PLA and just finished Scarlet. Both games are nice but I preferred the free world in PLA minus the loading screens and having to go back to jubilife and then to the new location.
Scarlets story was very underwhelming to me. The whole sandwich/student story was weak to me but I 100% both Pokédex and it was the first time I did it. Very fun being able to see the Pokémon in the open world and not relying on random encounters. The gameplay was honestly very good but glitchy for sure and compared to other open world games it needs a lot but compared to other Pokémon games it’s great.
