Why are people excited for this? Weren’t X and Y universally hated? Does this being a sequel make it mainline? Serious questions
Every Pokemon game starting with gen 5 onward has been universally hated at least on release
This is also a legends game

X/Y are good games but were trash in comparison to BW2, which preceded it. Game was much easier and had a barebones post game compared to that.
Z or X2Y2 would’ve saved it but never dropped, now we’re getting that game in a legends format

I took a break for awhile but I'm just wondering if you or anyone else thinks there's a worse main game than sword/shield ?

Ngl I'm playing BD right now and I am enjoying literally every single aspect of it (except I can't f***in evolve my haunter). According the internet this means I need to be put in a psych ward, but I am LOVING every piece of it. It's so goddam smooth to play
In 2020 being in lockdown I almost went balls deep into Pokemon again, picked up GO again heavy, so I got sword after 400+ hours in animal crossing or something and it felt like a literal chore to hit champion, sold the game the day I finished it. I'm pissed cause sword made give up on Pokemon again until like 6-8 months ago when I got into emulation/ROM hacks

ay man if ur enjoying it more power to u
i beat the game on release and never came back to it
chibi style aside, the overworld textures looked like s*** and for whatever reason, issues that were fixed in platinum are somehow present in the remakes
i was also not a big fan of how they lazily made the underground into a hub with different type zones and just threw in a bunch of pokemon there

Legends is a spin-off series
Mainline isn’t even the best series anymore

You’d think they’d make legends games the new mainline considering how much of an upgrade they are from the traditional games

I still dont really know what I should be doing with the underground and im at gym 8. I have a good team but Its confusing to go down there and see a lot of trash pokemon with no clue where better ones are hiding
I 100% dont think Ill return after finishing, but that's how Ive done all pokemon games lately, need to return to post game in unbound though (and maybe I will go back to polished crystal to finish the kanto part at some point). Hoping Violet is a bit more than that when it arrives in a couple days, just hope Im into it enough to do the DLCs too
I like BD for how pretty and fast it is really. I dislike having a team of 5 gen 5 pokemon though in gen 4 lol. But I never played platinum, left pokemon after diamond cause "Im too old for pokemon" and s*** but wish I continued. Black has been sick up to the first 3 gyms, I just quit to play BD really

That doesnt really make sense though because mainline inherently refers to the new generation with new pokemon and a new region being introduced all together
I havent played arceus but it seems like these are dark alternatives to an established region with established pokemon with very different alterations to shake s*** up and twist the whole formula in a different way
Dont see why they dont just keep doing this, have a mainline and have the legends ones too, more games at the end of the day. It would be cool if legends is more adult oriented, then the mainlines can continue to make risks and be super easy for kids to play

On KTT1 we had a lot of fun with XY.

The underground depends on what badge you have and you can just keep going back up and going back down to get different spawns.
This game is going to be the Switch's swan song and for Nintendo to surpass the PS2 in sales.
I feel you but at this point anyone interested by that game probably already have a switch right ?

the abysmal launch for violet kinda soured the experience for me
i should go back and replay it now after they dropped some patches
also go play platinum man f*** u doing lmao

After this I hope we get Legends 3 and 4 in some of the older regions like Kanto and johto
Kanto legends with a mewtwo origin story would be hard af

SwSh has high highs but the lows are too glaring. The game feels unfinished with how the speed run to the ending. DLC is fire and raids are a blast though

Since I've played diamond originally, and got bd as a gift, I figured I should have been tackling ones I missed like unbound and crystal (mainly played crystal as an excuse to use my rg nano since the screen sucks for GBA) and black. Platinum has been on the list I just haven't gotten to it lol. I'd probably be playing plat by now (if I completed black 1+2 at this point) if I didn't happen to get bd, which I expected to hate and not play much of either

Hoenn could have insane potential
