I've had Violet since it came out and never played it more than the intro section. Quit because the whole first couple hours were annoying.
Picked it up yesterday again on a whim and once the game opens up, the gameplay loop is addicting. I actually like how janky it is. I fought a pokemon yesterday while I was standing mid air and it was caught between some rocks. Reminds of the ps2 era.

Forreal lmao. The cut scenes were horrendously long. Definitely wouldn't survive Sword and Shield either lmao

I played ultra sun very recently and it took over 5 hours until the 'tutorial' section was over and I could actually walk around and catch s***
It took me I think 3 weeks of short sessions to get there. The text was insane and the original versions are supposed to be worse lmao

The original versions are A LOT worst lmao. It's a very story driven game. I wish the Ultra games didn't kill that part and just made the cutscenes skipable. That's what old GF would have done

pretty f***y because beyond that i think the alola region is actually pretty nice
it’s like Hoenn pt 2, if I grew up with that one instead i’d probably love it

I f***ing loved the games, I'm not saying they're bad. My team felt so fun and mimikyu is a goddam tank. I loved the trials instead of gyms, and the call-in battle thing was fun
I made it better by doing a lot of short sessions but eventually I lost track of the plot and when necrozma stuff happened I was like wtf is going on
Game was beautiful too. So much style in Alola

I played UM before. I wasn't a fan of the cutscenes there either but I liked the region and characters way more.
USUM is a 10/10 pokemon game anytime they actually let you play the game
Replaying Scarlet for the first time since release and man this is rough
Glad I never got it. Maybe the switch 2 version will make it worth it lol
The thing that realllllllllllyyyyyy turned me off to Scarlet and Violet is there are only store fronts and you can’t physically go into them…. That just seemed so cheap and lazy to me
Za release date: October 16
the art looks so good
EMMA on the cover is crazy
and is that SONIA????
edit:
nah probably the rival

Majority of the buildings are just there and it's a lack of NPCs to talk too as well.
Just watched the 4th movie and the ending really blew my mind that oak travelled through time and met ash when he was a kid
