For some reason the Wikipedia link just isn't working but The Bridge, a documentary from 2006, is downright evil and should never have been made, this shortened link to the wiki might work

honestly if you get caught up in the fun spectacle i can see how you end up as the usual wolf of wall street business major.
outside of that it should easy to see how s***ty jordan belfort is throughout the film
third act takes apart everything that comes before, thats generally his structure with his crime flicks.
how can folks watch Casino and glorify Ace and Nicky
Films depict problematic characters in problematic situations
All the time
Does that make film problematic
i think it glorified the scummy wall street persona instead of vilifying it which i think was maybe its goal.
It's intentional. Martin is putting the lens on both Jordan Belfort AND the audience for cheering him on because it's a road that goes downhill as shown by the end of the film.

you're confused. I'm confused. somehow they do it.
i just assume the focus on all the other s*** and all the negatives are a footnote or a "but" type thing. "yeah he was making millions and doin all this, but he got caught up, ppl had to snitch and he lost everything" type of mindset. idk
like it's easy to just enjoy the movie and leave with the fun s*** and not really pay attention to the whole "rise and fall of scummy wall street conman" story it's telling. so if someone lacks media literacy and thinking skills, they aren't gonna understand how he's vilified and mostly see it in a positive light.
how is it problematic?
Airplane scene? I’m not one to be sensitive but that scene bonkers
