Literally what do any of you look for in literature? It’s just a bunch of words. Why are y’all so pressed...
words have meaning
Ayn rand is literal human garbage
Huh what do u know another "bernout" being misogynistic online... typical anti social behaviour from isolated white men.
I'm helping one of my discords out with a decolonization-related reading list and this is one of the books I gave 5 stars to.

Traces of History presents a new approach to race and to comparative colonial studies. Bringing a historical perspective to bear on the regimes of race that colonizers have sought to impose on Aboriginal people in Australia, on Blacks and Native Americans in the United States, on Ashkenazi Jews in Western Europe, on Arab Jews in Israel/Palestine, and on people of African descent in Brazil, this book shows how race marks and reproduces the different relationships of inequality into which Europeans have coopted subaltern populations: territorial dispossession, enslavement, confinement, assimilation, and removal.
Charting the different modes of domination that engender specific regimes of race and the strategies of anti-colonial resistance they entail, the book powerfully argues for cross-racial solidarities that respect these historical differences.

I'll probably post it when it's all formatted out.
Last couple month especially I just been reading all kinds of stuff. Really has altered my perspective even though I was a leftist before.

sounds good
and u mean pushed you more left, or just sharpened your feelings on certain topics
i'd take a picture of my bookshelf but its got books behind books
I transformed 1 of my vinyl shelves to hold books so it's a small ass space for books
This is pretty much everything i've got on me atm, still have a lot more in boxes somewhere. Read most of these at least once, some a few years ago, others a lot more recently. Don't stand by some of the s*** in a few of them anymore, but any type of reading can be important if you think critically while you do it. unfortunately i've fallen almost completely out of reading fiction lately.

edit: i had the pictures embedded originally but that might not have been a good idea tbh
whats the best political book you have in your opinion? I want to pick one up

The latter mostly.
Reading more academic texts in general has polished things up and widened my perspective.

In all honesty it would just depend what you're trying to read about

Is "Mao's Great Famine" any good?
IDK s*** about Mao. I've always wanted to know what happened to be responsible for 3 times more deaths than stalin.

I would say if you read it then you should augment it with other readings because it gives a rather one sided view of mao and the great leap forward. Some info is kinda spotty. I got it to help me write a book report back before my own views were refined
Like I mentioned it's all about what u want to learn. Most of the classics in terms of political theory can be found online but it can be hard to find a starting point
Do you care if all the titles are linked to a download or not @Synopsis
I have the academic/webzines linked but not the books that are all on libgen/zlibrary or whatever (most you can still buy but some are out of print)
I got you in a few if not

Damn I only have books in my books app
My “shelf” (vitrine) - mostly literature, theatre, etc.
Philosophy/poetry (my English books)
Then some other books laying about my room, with no particular order or rhyme (coffee table books, the fake Hungarian Pléiade, etc.)
