To answer your first question…. it’s reported that Bob Iger earns over $25 million a year, a lotttt of that money could be going to writers instead . If Disney can pay their execs several millions a year, they can absolutely afford to pay living wages for writers
And for your second question…the stars are the ones who sell the tickets, a movie with s***ty writing can still do decent numbers if it has popular stars in it.
I’m not saying it’s right, but it’s just the unfortunate truth tbh
Are residual checks weekly monthly. You know?
We will be seeing a lot more animation projects now
I think most of them are SAG too

voice actors gotta be in the guild
That’s a positive way of looking at it
Idk when the last time there was an actors strike. Agents probably now more than ever looking for new talent
Always try to be positive my brother. And I think they said it's been like 63 years
Or we start seeing more musicians, Twitch streamers, and YouTubers in movies/shows
Yea Akademiks and Mandii B said they've been pitching alot to producers. So it's gon be interesting sokn
Jon Voight and Michael Madsen are the two “big” names not in the SAG so that should give you an idea.
Jon voight🤢🤢🤢🤮
I think most of them are SAG too
Damn wait I assumed they were different guild cause animation writers are
once the strike ends i think they wouldn’t be able to work on any union sets / productions
?
How do these people survive omg
But if they're also SAG they'd be doing scab work lol
I deleted, I might be wrong. But I was thinking strictly voice actors not celebs doing voice work
Or we start seeing more musicians, Twitch streamers, and YouTubers in movies/shows
Tik tok niggas bout to be on the big screen
Doubt it. March 2024 is supposed to be Beyond the Spider-Verse. If we thought that was delayed before, now it's really delayed lol
Just scrolled through IMDB. Nvm that post, hella projects are probably starting or are in the middle of production
They striking! Nah made you look
You’re a slave to a streaming service checkbook

For shows on tv, writers would get residuals for every rerun of the episodes
But in the streaming era, writers are only get like 1 check a year for their work
This video explains it all really well, if you want to see them talk about modern day residuals skip to 7:40
