Some of the audience reaction to this has been insane to me.

I didn't feel like this was defending pdfiles at all. I think the movie trusts it's audience enough to know that the men who are caught are all obviously in the wrong.

Nor is it a completely negative portrayal of Hansen. Critical of him, sure, but the film isn't meant to be a biopic either. The director has said in multiple interviews that he's a fan of Hansen too.

Mfs will have a hard time grappling with the grey area of a real life person, but will unironically say some s*** like "Thanos was right"
