    Who cares

It's inhumane to force people on d**** against their will, and make them live in a depressing barred-window ass building away from society. And why, just because they've been deemed "mentally ill"?

And you should know by default those places have systematic abuse, the staff will do anything they want to those people and nobody will say a word.

No it’s not inhumane to force someone to take medicine that will help them if they aren’t in the right state of mind to make responsible decisions

Inhumane would be leaving a schizo with no family to fend for themselves on the streets

you are the one advocating they all be housed in mental asylums, ain’t nobody here saying that instead we should not give a f*** about them or not attempt to solve the problem

    • well, besides y’all, in a round a bout way

The ones I’m talking about are the chronic homeless, the people you see downtown at the same corner for years allready slowly dying outside. Obviously I don’t think that as soon as someone hits a bad patch and loses their job they should be institutionalized

It’s illegal to kill your self (which is what they’re doing and slowly) not to mention the hundreds of other laws they break every day

now you are just talking about something that’s almost impossible to enforce and also doesn’t actually help the problem

Should be easy to enforce no?

Set up cameras or walking patrol down the usual homeless spots then either catch them doing d**** or acting disorderly while high, arrest them, if they don’t have a fixed residence bring em into the asylum...

Sure but it’s literally in everyone’s best interest...

Mentally ill and d*** addicted homeless get into a safe environment with medical care away from the abuse and danger they suffer on the street

And this would be great for public health

It absolutely does. Someone who grew up mainly seeing situational poverty/homeless in a suburb is going to have very different beliefs on homelessness than someone who grew up in a city like NYC or Baltimore and mainly saw severely mentally ill homeless people and addicts on the subways or street-corners.

this is unbelievably ironic when you and the other guy in fact have the the classic republican western individualistic view on this issue

“Its a free country they should be able to harm themselves as much as they want”

Literally objectivism and western individualism could be straight from ayn rand lol
