If somewhere you want food from is even 3 miles away you aren’t walking 6 miles total for a single meal
Why would a city built at the human scale put food 3 miles away fam use your brain. How are you people not getting this.
Refer to the image I had posted above of land use in Louisville. If all that parking space was redeveloped into mixed use, high density commercial, and apartment spacing, then the nearest grocery store would be a few building over MAX
a major issue that car centric infrastructure creates is that of a food desert, where even suburban areas have no access to anything commercial outside of one single zoned area for miles. This means that unless you have a car then you can’t function in society properly.
Like, suburbs can be designed so much better even without giving up cars as primary transport but no one wants to improve anything in this country
Solutions to prevent food deserts : more public transportation 😳
Wrong
This is a multifaceted issue that requires a multifaceted response
Zoning laws, infrastructure re-assessment and reconstruction, removal of automotive and oil lobbying, and bike subsidization are all major steps we can take to removing our dependence on cars

So I just watch one of those Not Just Bikes vids for the first time yesterday and it was very interesting and eye opening. Still gonna cop a Mercedes SL600 V12 when I get the chance though.
Just got a whip again now living in NY and it's so much better. It has its cons but no more waiting on trains, standing up at 7am morning commute, seeing crazies and sitting on dirty ass seats

How's parking and traffic jams?
Parking is pretty good for me, only struggle at late night. Traffic is pretty bad too lol
I think they should implement BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) on these stroads.

I guess it really depends on how good the train connection is, if your area is iffy then a car is a good choice
Metro or LRT>BRT
Most American cities struggle even with buses so a bus rapid transit would be a good start
Only in some ways. Public transit works best if it is the primary method of commuting for the city/country.
NYC subway system is both a lifesaver & inconvenience
it’s an amazing anomaly
It’s problems could be solved by more funding and efficiently applying that funding

more funding definitely wouldn’t hurt that’s for sure
