Hell nah. Take the redline past 47th going south in Chicago
Public transportation is ass
Public transportation is underfunded on purpose
Go to a country w proper funding and urban design like Germany or Japan and the difference is massive
Even if you were to drastically improve America’s public transportation system the majority of people would still prefer to ride in their own car because it provides privacy, conveniency, and even a level a level of luxury.
Living in NY or somewhere with a connected train/rail system would be cool but a car is pretty much required if you want to get anywhere where I live
Sorry but I gotta be selfish on this and say I’d much rather drive my own vehicle. I also feel like public transportation is something that could and should be invested in however
The total incoherence Is America the only place with contractors? Is Home Depot really the biggest reason we should be car centric???
What flexibility does private transportation give outside of you traveling rural roads, especially if we were in a hypothetical world where public transportation was properly funded meaning there were trains and busses that ran everywhere and were on time. You’re still at the mercy of road design, traffic conditions, thousands of other drivers not f***ing up, and of your own shortfallings while driving
"The total incoherence "
stopped reading right here sorry maybe we can converse next time
I live in the city with the best public transportation in the world and no thanks.
I'd rather drive. Haven't used the subway in years and haven't used the bus in even longer. Never again.
this tram s*** not for everybody
ive seen peoples grandmothers topple straight to the ground its all bad
Not having to look at this hellscape everyday has 100% made my life better.
this looks like a place you stop by to take a break from doing a long day of traveling by car...

Yeah f*** all that public transportation s*** .....
honestly public transportation sucks
You are forcing yourself to be around people and depend on a train or a bus to get you somewhere. I'd rather depend on myself. That's freedom that many people don't understand or have financially!

Those countries are tiny as f*** lol. And imagine if even half of the people on the road decided to switch to public trans. That s*** would be a nightmare

China has 3x the population of the US and about the same land area. They also use fewer cars than the US, at a rate of 227 vehicles per 1,000 people compared to the US’ 816
Also using an unrealistic scenario to disprove the merits of public transportation doesn’t do anything to help you. Flipping the switch to public transportation is obviously not possible, but we should begin redesigning how we live our lives in cities and towns so that we can eliminate more and more cars as time goes on
Obviously if the entire US public transportation system is underdeveloped then it would be a disaster to switch to it

U hipsters are forgetting one important factor:
No car=no hoes
Also ppl who take the train and bus don’t even want to take it.

I loved taking the train back in the A thats me tho and its not even the best train in the country by a long shot
Which looks more appealing
General question. What do you do about pollution and trash and just the general need for privacy with that set up? I feel like the pandemic was the one blip recently that you can use against public transportation.
I do hate traffic, but I do enjoy leaving on my own time.
Or anyone lived in Japan with subways got something different to describe it?
