This s*** is such a great album. I think we have a real identity crisis in Pop rn and to have a 16 year old write this album and come out with such a cohesive vision both for the album and for pop as a whole is wild. Super influential album

Masterpiece album from the production to the songwriting. I need to revisit this

that’s absolute facts

she took a ton of ideas from elsewhere - stuff like Trilogy and James Blake obviously had a huge impact on this project

But she brought that into a synth pop framework and you can hear all those elements come together

I like Billie a lot but she essentially ripped off what this album did - that sparse very Hip-Hop production with the chopped vocals and pans. Same voice same lyrical style etc.

Cadillac in my dreams song was hard

I think it’s the worst song on here tbh

Feels like it wasn’t intended for this album but had to go on there when it became so huge

that s*** got such an incredible feel to it
really trippy kinda cold vibe production wise and then you get her warm ass vocals

one of the better pieces of writing on there as well I feel like it’s a much better royals in terms of the boring suburbia and pop culture cynicism

album was a staple in the teen years for sure
