    Bad Finger Boogie

Killers of the Flower Moon up next, just started casting extras last week.

DiCaprio and De Niro team up as part of an FBI investigation in the 20s into a series of murders on a Native American reservation after oil is found beneath it.

So glad we get a Leo/Bobby pic from Marty

I dunno what to expect for release date at the moment - looks like they're all set to shoot in January, but it'd be weird for it not to release in a late-year Oscar window so unless he's gonna hold onto it all the way until holidays 2021 this could be Marty's first Summer release in a long while.

Or maybe they can even get it on screens by next holidays? Probably no real CGI to worry about on this one

Any idea what that signifies? I know Hoffa slept with the door half open but is that it?

Peeped last night. Didn't hate it, didn't love it.

Yea I was disappointed. Pacing was just bad, movie had no reason to be as long as it was. A lot of important plot details (like pretty much all of the Union stuff) felt underexplained and I wasn’t able to get fully invested in the plot lines because they jumped around so much. Movie really felt like it was just ticking off chapters from Frank’s biography. This reminded me of Black Mass in a lot of ways tbh.

I felt like it was stretched out to the runtime that felt extremely long to capture the feeling of it being an epic, like on some Thin Red Line s*** but it never needed to be & added way too many unnecessary moments that took away from the overall point of the story rather than being fully cohesive. S***s a mixtape rather than an album. Goodfellas for example, everything connected seamlessly and effected the events of the story nothing felt like it didn't NEED to be there which is just a normal thing for Scorsese's films when they're good but if this was like, cut down to a 1hr50 minute or even 2hr20 rather than 3 f***ing hour + it would be soooo much better. I hope it gets a cut eventually I feel like Marty was trying to prove he "still had it" or something and its by no means a bad film but he was way into his bag, I don't wanna undermine his vision but he did too much Frank OR jimmy dont need a near 4 hour movie idc what nobody sayin

Yea Marty was definitely feeling himself when he made this. Movie gets by on the strength of its lead actors, without them this would be pretty average. It suffers from a ton of editing room issues, and needed way more focus. It faces some of the same problems that Gangs of New York did. I think both of those had a great movie somewhere in there, but what we got wasn’t it.

Saying Gangs of New York isn't a great movie.....

    Opinion invalidated

Glad I'm not the only one who thought the excessive runtime wasn't needed. It dragged a bit during the second half. Also, I might be stupid, but there were so many characters and motives to take into account it was almost a bit confusing.

Phenomenal film, but definitely not perfect.

Ah man don’t get me started, I watched that one a few months back and it was a mess. First half gets off to a pretty strong start and then just throws it away halfway through and the second half is just a complete mess. 20 different plotlines all flying by at once, all of which feel rushed, anticlimactic ending, entire father-son dynamic between the leads disappears, etc. Another indulgent Scorsese movie that gets by from the strength of the lead performances.
