I didn't love this album at first. I was just listening to this s*** as individual songs and they were dope but he did that with OD but when the concept finally clicked for me, that's when I knew Kendrick was special. His rapping was already high level and his individual song concepts were fire but this album showed me he knew how to execute an entire project and weave that s*** together.

Pharrell calling it a mix CD is legendary.
