A lot of these new features you see getting adopted on AM and Spotify, Tidal has already had for years
Like…?
how’s apple music with last.fm ?
Personally hit and miss.
Used to be amazing with QuietScrob but the latest update f***ed it entirely. Now you have to download all music to scrobble and turn low power mode off.
Other apps charge you to scrobble or don’t work.
That being said it works fine on a desktop

iirc Tidal was the first one to offer lossless quality. First one that had music videos already integrated, first one to have full credits on songs listed. Those 3 off the top of my head
Its mainly rearranged track outs (the individual recorded parts that make up the audio session) of a song with some maybe remixed elements.
Its why its worst or harder on older stuff because they usually dont have as many individual files or arent as flexible.
HOLY F***
I just listened To Vince ST and it sounds so much better than Spotify’s version
social aspect of spotify (lots of friends use) > AM even though i know AM’s integration of local files + dolby is probably better

Those are all inevitabilities, it’s not like they were novel ideas that weren’t in the heads of other streaming apps

Easy to say that in retrospect lol.

Yeah AM has a good social integration but it’s so out of the way compared to Spotify and the lack of sessions, now listening, and collab playlists are just holding AM back

just being able to send a playlist and not having them say “oh i don’t use AM”
HOLY F***

Yeah modern stuff will def be different & more noticeable.
Listen to stuff in the last few years they have as examples. It'll be more dramatic & interesting since the files are more available due to being more recent to not lose s***, & individualized since most music nowadays is tracked down to the smallest part.
So it & the engineer have more room to play with the elements & mix.
It will be really different ranging from song to song since its a rearrangement basically, which is not how modern digital stereo & lossless works.
Its a case by cases bases on how noticeable, dramatic, interesting & "good" something will be with that treatment.

I’m gonna miss my playlists but after listening to the quality of Vince ST I’m switching

Use the SongShift app to transfer playlists
And btw i think dolby is only a "gimmick" in name/marketing since its basically just a remix with more effort.
It can still be a valid & interesting method to use though.
i've been thinking about switching to spotify from AM. been using the free version, some of their playlists are too elite + can use it on my PS5
no real problems with apple music but it could be better. the desktop music app is horrific though
Don’t really hear much of a difference with Dolby audio in AM tbh. Maybe because most songs aren’t recorded with it? Idk the technical engineering process and I won’t pretend to be an audiophile.
There was one guy on here that made a thread about $1200 earbuds he bought and was a huge audiophile that was really knowledgeable about that stuff.
I think you need like the over ear max Apple max headphones to even hear the difference. Cause even with the AirPod pros it sounds great, but I don’t think I could tell the difference between Dolby audio and just lossless when it comes to music. For like tv sound systems n soundbar setups when i comes to tv shows n movies I can
lol yea its only a few albums w atmos
unless it says atmos under the song its not atmos lol
