Should USA resort to popular vote or proportional vote by state or keep it the way it is?

popular vote = most votes wins

proportional vote by state = Example one state has 10 electoral votes if 50% people in state want A, 30% want B, 20% want C

    A gets 5, B gets 3, C gets 2

Yes, the electoral college should be abolished.

  • Nov 9, 2020

Yes, not that it matters for this election considering Biden won both votes.

Going full popular vote would decimate the Republican Party and I am here for that.

popular vote would literally force politicians to actually campaign instead of just targeting swing states.

they would actually need to appeal to everyone to win

Popular vote Yes but I don't see it in the near future

Popular vote interstate compact still needs like 70 more EVs to come into effect and there's very few blue state governments that haven't signed on already

Isn't it proportional because of the different populations of the states?

The Republican Party has won the popular vote 1 time in the last 32 years (1/6), yet the Bush and Trump administrations loom large over the 21st century. Enough of this s***.

We would be more likely to adopt a proportional system first though.

    proportional or popular vote?

It should just be a popular vote system imo. Whoever gets the most votes wins.

  • Nov 9, 2020

    Popular vote

The system is f***ing dumb zero excuse especially in countries like UK and Australia conservative governments had found great success winning elections with helping hand

If Texas flipped this election, people would still be calling for the electoral college to go. It’s stupid regardless.

    Nope still bullshit system

I want it to be fair and competitive republicans for year have done everything to f*** over elections with closing polling stations in Democrat areas and gerrymandering some of most ridiculous areas.

  • No electoral college possibly means no war on terror and no Iraq invasion. No electoral college means no Trump and the bullshit that came along with him.

  • Nov 9, 2020

not american so how would y’all even implement that like who’s call would it have to be for the conversation to be taken seriously?

Man I'd argue for there to be restrictions on voting tbh. Some people should not be allowed to vote, forreal
