Not really, at least TML had number of enjoyable songs, SS was just mediocre and boring all around it's sad.

In The Morning was already recorded back in 2007, I believe it was Cole himself who decided to add Drake and that song was already on FNL so idk if the label had anything to do with it. I could agree with the rest though

Both were a let down to me. Big KRIT, Drake, J Cole, Etc all failed to live up to the expectations of their debut.

True, at least Drake and Big Krit rebounded later on but Cole never put out an album to the level of his early work. LFTU was a letdown too, people were hyped and the album was pushed back until we got mid instead. Had the debut been good, he would've seen more success overall

His albums generally are still okay with FHD being his only real outstanding album but i think he can do way more and way better than he is.
