I just hate soundcloud rap because I thought it was poorly made, lacking any sort of depth, lazy mastering, etc.
I just joke around though honestly not ALL of it was bad

The first wave was entirely composed of people who ended up on the 2016 Freshman List
imo the first soundcloud wave was from 2012-2015, second from 2015-2018 or so. the first wave was more so inspired by tumblr/wavy s*** and the second era was more trap influenced imo

He was backed by labels, he didn't start out by uploading his tracks to SoundCloud and gaining an audience during 2016 or whenever this whole era was.
