2014-2016 was a whole different world where Plugg Beatz and Chief Keef ruled the entire f***ing scene
2010 - 2014: original underground scene (blog-era/datpiff/youtube rappers)
2015 - 2017: "soundcloud" era

snot and them are mad new, i didn’t hear about him earlier than last spring
i’d say this new underground (ken carson, sofaygo, autumn, ssgkobe, etc) make a lot of use of twitter for marketing while uploading a majority of music to streaming
soundcloud is basically dead at this point, it’s executives made some STUPID marketing choices
nah soundcloud still alive for the underground, kids be active on there
especially the "new underground" with the pluggnb s*** and the different collective sounds (surfgang, xxet, etc.)

I think between uzi being on hiatus, juice dying, and the monster hit suge eas whilest avoiding soundcloud rap’s most egregious elements when the hate for sc rappers was at an all time high
was all just kind of a perfect storm
