Any of yall seen this yet? Watched it last night and it scared the f*** outta me, can’t think of the last time I got this scared watching a movie
Technically not out yet but its on all the movie sites
Lazy f***ing directing. Give me $15k I'm make you a better movie. I'll make you the same movie, better! This is a pretty good 20 minute short film stuffed with an unforgivable amount of filler. Gave it my undivided attention and it gave me bullshit tropes and an overbearing style that pushed any kind of "acting" to the bare margins
And it's fake VHS
didnt really love this and i'll admit the only way i got through it is by watching it on a faster speed
BUT
this has some of the scariest s*** ive seen in years
i can't remember the last time i had to cover my eyes at a film

When they’re in the bedroom and they see the parents
Saw this last night, kind of on the fence about it. It's definitely unsettling but staring at walls and doorframes for an hour and forty minutes gets a little boring I'm sorry lol
When they’re in the bedroom and they see the parents
Yeah, that scene had the most tension imo. The whole theater was frozen for that scene.
The movie made more sense when I read someone’s thoughts about it just being purely dreamlike. They mentioned the fact that you never see outside the house, the shots are either up or down. It was some interesting s***. Like an hour and a half of pure visuals, which makes it unique I think. Don’t know when I’ll watch it again though.

Yeah for sure it definitely felt dream/nightmare like
It’s based on the directors short film called “Heck”. His channel is a bunch of short films based on his subscribers dreams/nightmares that they send him.
The comment section is dope cos there’s a bunch of people posting their own interpretations

Great experimental film. Its one of those where it hits you or it doesn't at all. Personally it gave me the same feeling or little glimpses of how I used to experience fear as a kid. Pretty nostalgic

Exactly how i felt
So, I hated it initially.
But I feel like it Clockwork Orange’d me or something. Like, it made me suffer through a terrible experience, but it changed something in me. It still flashes in my mind like a bomb blast. And, thinking back on it, I did have a real experience. I was transported to a different world where time does not exist. It’s a slow and grueling prison, but it is unstuck from our conventions. It is the most genuinely unconventional and experimental film I think I’ve ever seen collide with mainstream interest.
But it worked.
I have not left that house since I watched it.
I’m still there.
He’s not wrong.
A part of me is still wary that I’m being bullshitted, but there’s something thrilling here.
Needless to say, it’s gotten under my skin since that initial reaction.
Just got back from seeing this. Complete and total dogshit of a film
Legitimately don’t know if I gaslit myself into thinking that it’s good.
