I'm sure he's going to drop a good album no matter what - he's not that type of artist to drop something bad and i don't think he's capable of dropping something "bad "regardless of experimentation. I just think it's interesting to a***yze people's career through a business lens rather than through a purely consumer-centric one. The conversation comes up a lot between artists, sure, but it does for good reason - stuff like this does effect careers and change the trajectory of career perception. Imagine if Kanye went on a 6 year Hiatus after Graduation for example? Completely different career.

Delusional. Family Ties went viral and people are thirsty for a new Kendrick album. Unlike the other two in the big three, Kendrick’s last project was well received.

You're the delusional one. Family Ties/Range Brothers didn't do s***. They came and went, especially in terms of impact. His last project being well-received doesn't mean s***. Critcs and fans talk s*** about Drake all day but whenever he announces new music, everywhere gets buzzing because he's Drake and he does numbers.

Kendrick hasn't gotten any of that kind of buzz since DAMN. dropped and that's not surprising. He's just been that inactive.

isn't that the point? they're saying it doesn't seem like there's a lot of anticipation right now. of course if something happens within 2 months then circumstances will be different lol

especially with super bowl coming up. him simply being on that stage will increase hype and anticipation again whether there's new music then or not

Dude is acting like I'm saying no one cares about new Kendrick music or something. Of course we do. He just hasn't done s*** for so long that of course the hype will be basically non-existent till he's ready to drop some new music again. It the same thing for Frank Ocean. Being silent for that long will cause hype around you to die out till you get active again.
