Idk man. I feel like black art deserves a break from being about trauma/informative. I feel like other parts of black culture like what brings us joy, what problems outside of race specific ones do we face, and the lesser known parts of our history should take importance in our music, movies, and shows. We already live through this stuff, our pain shouldn’t be the only thing we’re ever rewarded to talk about, especially when it’s not our responsibility to fix it.
exactly dudes want rappers to hop and skip to whatever THEY want so much trauma in our culture
Idgaf what you think nigga. You don’t know me

The person who will go unnamed has helped his Black side of his family, donated money to Black causes and charities, and spoke on Alton Sterling's shooting on top of some other things.
Obviously, he's not a conscious rapper cause that's not his lane.
Doesn't help that his mentor claimed racism doesn't exist, bashed BLM and endorsed Trump either.
At the end of the day, it's entertainment. It's foolish to bank on rappers and athletes to be active on Black causes as opposed to politicians, educators, and business leaders.

All problems specifically black related in US is literally due to being black in US.
You also cant pretend everything is all good when it isnt, especially when "fun" Rap is mostly about killing, how much money you got n cheating (not saying there is anything wrong with that in context, but just saying in contrast to "issues" rap).
I dont think op is saying all fun or laidback rap has to be deleted tho, just that he wants a more prominent voice (smaller voices do this already) to Rap more heartfelt or more about any issues, personal or worldly.
Which imo isnt hard to understand and is a growing sentiment in general.
