but thats exactly the thing that leads to those 3 options

based on the public information out there this totally could be a possibility that its equipment failure or something

but if the US government has eyewitnesses, radar, thermal/IR, video and the like then they know to a high degree of accuracy whether this is the case or not

if it is equipment failure and they don't want to admit it then it's option 3

if its not equipment failure then its option 1 or 2

as far as a rare natural phenomenon goes I feel like this fits into the same kinda boat but ill admit that I didn't really consider that a serious option - regardless the US government then knows a lot about a really bizarre natural phenomenon and is doing some really weird spin with all this UFO PR stuff

How do you know that they know it to a high degree of accuracy? According to the public information out there this is something that’s never really happened before. What if they’re still trying to figure out what happened or something

You’re still basing all your options on the assumption that ‘the government has some sort of information’ which is not necessarily true.

Edit: also your option 3 implies that the government knows for certain that it was false, which is an assumption. They might be just as confused as we are, and the investigation is still pending and tied up in red tape.

I mean they have radar data, they have extended video and they have eyewitnesses and the amount of this released is very very limited

that's reasonable but to me if you have logical radar data that aligns with eyewitnesses and video and any other data they may have then its pretty possible to make some level of judgement call on what took place

I don’t know that they’ve reached a conclusion

But I do strongly strongly believe they are a lot closer to reaching a conclusion than what has been portrayed publicly
