They need more coop. Fine you like movie single player expensive games to make but give us more coop games otherwise there is 0 point in having plus. Yes you get more single player games but most of us like owning out right either way

Also, sony has never been good with multiplayer, i have no idea why all of a sudden thats their main focus and once again it proves with 4 sony centric multiplayer focused games have failed back to back in a row this gen. Even not just in game quality themsleves, but sony also has a poor infrastructure and grasp on multiplayer games since day 1 and especially since ps3.

Sony was always looked at singleplayer, xbox multiplayer and nintendo both (mainly co-op or limited multiplayer for nintendo but still) - yeah they all have successes and failures to whatever degree here n there thats outside their norm m.o. but overall that what their brands have been, why people buy into them separately and its still seen that way by the consumer literally today - and its also a literal proven track record.

And this isnt even going into the discussion and philosophy of a crowded market ecosystem and niches not being filled that used to be filled.

the cost of making a Last of Us, Spider Man, God of War is immense. Yes it does gang busters but you only play it once then possibly trade it in, give it to a friend, possibly not even complete it. Could those people tell you front to back what they loved about it ? no . And yeah that is true, but you cant force a consumer thought to change just because you want it too. Again, Sonys multiple failures proves that. They may want it, but the consumer is obviously not giving it to them. A singleplayer game is making great money especially when you compare it to the abject failures of the multiplayer games. And Sony specifically, they didnt just have a mid game or alright playerbase that has a few whales that majorly support, they arent getting any whales. No one is supporting theirs specifically.

If they want mobile money then they should make mobile games for the audience that is fine with that. Instead of trying to force it into a different space and player type. And the few major winner, they are still going and have their audience that bought into them, there isnt enough money nor time from players that can juggle 6 different live service games at once from multiple companies that all expect them to be a whale in. They already picked their horse, and there is not enough bets or betters for another at the moment. It is a niche filled, majorly.

So instead of making some good money on singleplayer games they are risking literal bankruptcy with abject failures of multiplayer games. It clear your market doesnt want what you want and you will die if you keep forcing it. Thats any industry.

The game industries overall current idea of "i dont want to make some money, i want to make all the money" is making most of them no money. Only a few, and those few are already well-settled in. And your brand isnt what people look for that type of experience in that way anyway.

Its a literal counter to their own self-made culture and brand build, and you cannot change that in a flash. Again, same as any other industry.

Single player game if its a movie game is not great money man. The amount they have to pay everyone that worked on the game. All the tech they used. For a one time purchase? they make 0$ if you buy god of war ragnarok , spider man 2 used 0$. Thats part of why the push to digital. Thats why the push of "you getting spider man 2 at launch look out for spoilers you have to play it at launch"
