Games at Walmart are $10 less for PS4 so I’m assuming they’ll be $60 for PS5 games. Gonna cop my games there for sure
I think it was reported that they have like a 120M+ budget for Cyberpunk. That's development and marketing.
I think GTA V was something completely nuts.
What about games that get continued support like Tekken? They continue improving the gameplay and adding more characters since it's release. The game came out in 2015....Those people still need to be paid because they are still working on the s***. $2 DLC won't hurt.
Between the work, time and the cost it takes to make these games $70 is pretty reasonable. Entertainment is a luxury. Date night at AMC costs like $80 lol for a couple hours.
Furthermore, the practice of micro transactions is not something that's been adopted by all video games. It's literally here and there. DLC on the other hand is additional content lol if you don't want the extra s*** then don't pay for it. If you(I don't mean you personally) are tight on money literally don't play games that have micro transactions, don't buy DLC and don't buy new games. Those things are really not that hard to do. It's that simple. People deserve to be compensated for their work though.
CEO of take 2 said costs went up like 200% in the last 10 years.
Nba 2k5 sold 1.6m copies
Nba 2k20 sold 8m copies and counting...
Like 500% increase in copies sold
I mean it makes sense if all this new development technology is being used to make sure it matches the systems output but it just means 3 new games a year with cost over $220 not counting any micro-transactions or DLCs

So you're upset with Sony because 2K doesn't have a justifiable reason to raise their prices(Outside of developing on new hardware)....?
That was the worst example possible.
2K doesn't, but other companies have a reason to ask for $10 more. You didn't sustained support on games either.
I guess “full” games like demons souls and cyberpunk will be $70 but games that are smaller in scope like miles morales will be $50
From what I heard it’s just first party games that will be $70

hmmm but 2k21 is $70 too

It’s the same principal. They sell way way more copies now than 10 years ago..
Only makes me be selective of games now. You can tell which ones aren’t day one buys . You can tell which ones gonna be mid.
Like say Valhalla I already know what I’m getting from a assassin creed game, it’s a solo game and it’s definitely gonna have a season past. For some it would be best to wait on that to go on sale and it will go on sale.
I think it’s just time to buy only 2 - 3 day one games a year and buy stuff that goes on sale. Know it’s gonna be hard when the next gen really starts but I’m trying to save money atm and I already have 2 games for ps5 but u still have a backlog of PS4 titles to play
yall still on the ps5 wave or are you ready for the xbox
xbox games will be $70 too so nah
PC niggas win again. I’ll get a PS5 when some fire exclusives drop.
Till then I’m Gucci
I remember when Nintendo 64 cartridges and a few early PS3 games used to cost $70 a game. In the digital era why do we keep going backwards :
It's actually a lot cheaper now if you account for inflation and the scope and scale of games now. The fact that we had it for 60 for so long actually surprises me. But you're right with digital, it should help mitigate costs if it goes directly to the companies.
If gamesharing is still a thing it won't be too bad for me, I usually don't play a lot of games until theyre cheap anyway
I guess “full” games like demons souls and cyberpunk will be $70 but games that are smaller in scope like miles morales will be $50
cyberpunk staying the same price apparently?
can look at it like
$100 CAD to play Demon's Souls
or
an extra $100 spent on the first 10 new games
