And that just the base incomplete version of the game, add DLC and passes, and now you're paying one to two-fourths the price of a console per game.

Video games should be more expensive. They work hard for it and yet many are underpaid, work killer hours for months at a time, and still get laid off. Hell yeah they should be more expensive.

Consumers just have to take it to the chin. We've had it good for a long ass time.

    what about films though?

seems as if they made films readily consumable without question

theatre tickets are half price 4 days a month
disney plus and netflix together are less than $20 USD

and then the price to own a film is even lower

people work long and hard on movies too don't they? plus movies are way easier to pirate and share

    • Avengers End Game cost 356 million but has made $2.5 billion

objective point made, now back to games..

    • GTA 5 cost $265 million but has made over $6 billion
    • Skyrim cost $80 million but has made over $2 billion

are you sure you're correct here? because it seems like films have majorly gone DOWN in price and games have only gone UP in price

Film being a booming industry in an era of a major shift has little to do with the point I'm making, however the effort/compensation is much more fair in film than in gaming. I'm not arguing for or against the prices of film to rise.

Gaming is the hardest working entertainment industry on the planet. The compensation is lopsided and the internal competition is ruthless, so those not on top get paid way less than their worth for what they produce. Other industries may be similar, but definitely not on the level of gaming. The pay must be leveled. Games are going up in price for a reason.

Not really a good case for a direct comparason cause the market for movies is so much larger.

It’s the same principal. They sell way way more copies now than 10 years ago..

It costs way way more to make these games now lol

2k production costs are low because they repackage the same game year to year

  • Sep 17, 2020

this sucks but there’s a few ways to cut the price of games in half of or get them free if you try 🤷🏾‍♂️
