This is gonna create an even bigger disparity between popular games/franchises (2K, COD, Sony, etc.) & the niche games. Don't see who's going to buy Destruction AllStars for $69.99
Video games should be more expensive. They work hard for it and yet many are underpaid, work killer hours for months at a time, and still get laid off. Hell yeah they should be more expensive.
That sounds more like company mismanagement. If we buy more games for a higher price they won't pay those guys more lol, unless it's a smaller studio or indie

Facts, some games gotta just start at 50 bucks. If it's digital ps still makes their money
Smaller games won't survive. If I'm paying 75 after tax I'm gonna be damn sure it's a good ass game or something I'll play for a long time

Exactly, people are gonna be extra thoughtful about what games they're purchasing & the longevity of the games they're buying if they weren't already.

Either game sales will go down & as a result games go back down or people will keep buying at the same or close to same rate they were and this is just the new norm. I buy a wide range of games and they all never released at $60.

I wish I had that kind of patience but I'm never interested at paying full price for a game that can be completed in less than 12 hours. Need replayability or a game w/ longevity.
$70 + the season passes/battle pass or whatever they call it + skins + other microtransactions
or you could try games that don't nickel and dime you
and here i thought there was no way i could be less interested in PS5
xbox games gonna be $70 too bro
will Rockstar and Bethesda also up their games to $70?
Rockstar gonna be the first fam
Mfs really thought this was Sony only lmao. I do hope yall know this will be standard price for XSX, PC, and whatever Nintendo’s next system is as well.
Honestly I’m surprised it took this long to go up. We been stuck at $60 since ‘05/‘06. Games are more advanced and cost more to make, so the price was bound to go up. Sucks but it is what it is.
gtfoh with these reasonable takes

that game is almost certainly gonna drop in price relatively soon. you're right that it's not the type of game people will pay $70 for

I hate ronnie2kuck so much omg
xbox games gonna be $70 too bro
Just use the xbox store in Brazil and everything is $30
Only reason why I use this console
for me it comes to 90 cad per game and after tax thats 100 per game so each game costs a 5th of a ps5 lmao
i dont mind paying like 60-70 if its reflective of the game quality. if its a $30 game ill pay $30 and so on. its important to support devs to me so that they continue making games n since i can make my own money i dont wanna pirate those games you know
If only Xbox was a strong enough competition where they would dare increase their prices like that.

Y’all realize health and auto insurance is like hundreds of dollars a month
Are y’all parents still paying for y’all asses?
Insurance is a scam, and not everyone drives lmao
I’m just mad that digital costs the same as physical... like bro digital is skipping all the costs that go into that
thank god for digital, don't need to worry about tax at least
They still charge tax even if it's digital
