Point 1 has to do with safer methods of injection than shooting it up, and safer ways to shoot it if it were legalized (clean needles)
Point 2 is referring to the black market leading to dealers becoming sales people trying to get you on different substances, etc etc
I don’t have much time rn to get into all the details, but I’d like to continue this conversation later because your insight is appreciated.

i think the things you say there could be true, but 1 isn't shooting it far more pleasurable than other methods? that's my intuition, but i dunno the fax. 2 i rly do think legalizing it would introduce more people to it rather than deter them or keep the # of users neutral

why r we ignoring the whole "if people don't smoke cigarettes all the time, that's going to be a good thing for them. if they do smoke cigarettes all the time, or even just fairly regularly, they're increasing their chances of several health problems" thing? the healthcare thing just doesn't seem relevant. that's not the solution to getting ppl to stop smoking or never start, so it's not a decent replacement for what the gov's doing at all

and what also gets people to stop smoking is them not smoking as a result of not being able to find the cigarettes they like. there isn't a single solution to this, just like how there's no such thing as "the source of what's causing them to smoke in the 1st place". people smoke for a myriad of reasons; you can try to fix a problem you think enough users share, and then surprise not much changed because addictions aren't conscious like that. you could give free, great health care to everyone tomorrow and people will still smoke the next day. why? because they smoked the day before, and the day before that

Im glad you have this grand narrative explanation that people smoke cigarettes because life is bad and there is no justice or healthcare, but the simple reality is that people smoke cigarettes because they are addictive. If people couldn't get them, many would probably stop smoking.

May 10, 2021TheoryThey had previously banned flavored cigarettes, I’m not sure how menthol got around that ban. But when they do these vans they are consistently dumb logic lol. The vape ban from last year was worded so that it wouldn’t ban disposable e-cigs. So Juul has to get rid of their flavors because they sold cartridges, but Airbar and Puffbar (worse for the environment) can make whatever flavors they want
