I guess but oftentimes there's not a lot of evidence for s*** like that

But if theres concrete evidence for something like that then im not opposed to it. Im not pro death penalty but if a serial killer gets executed im not gonna cry about it

If there isn't enough evidence people shouldn't be convicted in the first place

    They shouldn't but they are

Thats the thing about the death penalty debacle people arent focusing on the root of the problem

Well death penalty is both inhumane and the easy way out

But do serial rapists and serial murders deserve humane treatment

So if there is clear evidence someone was a mass murderer what should their sentence be?

    That's not the point bro

thats where i flip flop on because i used to be 100% for death penalty but reading how many times the state has goofed up makes me hesitant. but i agree that pedos should die first and foremost.

Pedos mentally ill and there are pedos that dont act on their thoughts

Death penalty always a difficult thing. When i see the horrors that happen to people by others it makes me think yeah do that s***. But so many wrong things to it, like innocents getting the punishment wrongly, the state basically killing too and some governments can and will even use it against political opponents; the people in a firing squad being murderers too etc.

imagine standing there anticipating a bullet (to your brain im assuming or are they just gonna barrage them with bulllets)

    That kinda is the point

Some people cant be rehabilitated and so we shouldnt waste any resources trying to do so. But only if there is empirical evidence beyond a reasonable doubt

Like if the Florida school shooter got the death penalty i wouldnt bat an eye because he made a conscious decision to kill kids and theres video evidence and witness testimony of him doing it

  • Mar 19, 2022

That’s gotta be one hell of a job for whoever has to do that sort of thing

They should bring back stoning and call it brick squad.

AHHH LORD GENGHIS NO PLEASE IT WASNT ME I BEG OF Y-

I read they had a superstition where it was bad luck to spill royal blood, so they instead poured molten metal over royals to execute them

So i gotta pay taxes to house niggas like Dylann Roof?

Why? Why should they get to live when they made a conscious choice to murder people

  • Mar 19, 2022

    USA: 'WE ARE CIVILIZED'

  • Mar 19, 2022

Only group of people that would deserve a firing squad are serial child molesters and serial killers that are proven to not have any psychological illness

  • Mar 19, 2022

Your hard earned money being spent to house child rapists, serial killers, school shooters, etc

Nah fam if theres undeniable evidence that they did it like video evidence then get them outta here Nothing of value lost

Pretty sure it costs more to administer death penalty than it is to jail someone for life

Edit: a couple minutes of googling showed me that in some states (other states don’t release enough info) like Texas it is more expensive

Yes these are heinous crimes and I also can't help but feel that death is necessary for the worst of the worst criminals. But the death penalty doesn't deter murderers. States with capital punishment don't have lower crime rates than states without, so is it really making a difference? Typically that conscious decision criminals make is preceded by root causes that we could address and mitigate crime substantially (e.g., mental health, housing, access to education, and sustainable employment).

Add to the fact that many cases are not as clear cut as a school shooter (e.g., Black men wrongfully convicted) and you have a messy situation that puts power in the hands of the state. I just don't think it's right to give the state that power nor a positive way to address crime. It's a touchy topic and I understand if people feel differently.

So if someone bound and gagged your family, raped them, murdered and then dismembered them you would be fine with them being wined and dined in a safe environment every night?

Prisons are supposed to rehabilitate not punish so you are not serving them any justice by keeping them locked up

  • W.

Stop wasting taxpayer money to feed and house serial killers, pedophiles, and rapists for 25 years before they get the jab -- only a government could ever be this inefficient.

    Just pop the f***ers

It's not supposed to. It's supposed to save resources by ridding society of the worst of the worst.

But i do agree that mistakes can and do happen which is why there needs to be substantial evidence beyond a reasonable doubt before sentencing someone to death

But if you're on video murdering a bunch of people then you need to die lmao. Why do i gotta pay taxes to keep you wined and dined.

If you personally killed someone that raped and murdered your family, I wouldn’t be mad at that. It’s justified under your own moral compass, even if that conflicts with the law

I just don’t think the government deserves the right to decide on someone’s life

  • Mar 19, 2022

And yall gotta realize institutionalism goes both ways

Some people eventually get comfortable living in prison. So in the end you're not punishing them at all lowkey

Except people get falsely convicted and sentenced to death all the time

This is why I don’t support it. The number is something like 1 in 25 death row convictions are found to to innocent. I don’t trust the government with numbers like that.
