The ending was practically the same as that first Escape Room film.
Wasn't good there and isn't good here.
Regarding the ending - so, the old man did rlly piss his pants in fear that one time? I felt like that whole twist of him being the main villain came across as forced, more than anything.
Also, the cop subplot went nowhere.
And the writing felt very uneven - they say gi-hun didn't touch any of the money (for a whole year, mind u) - so how exactly was he able to pay his debts? And, how come sang-woo's mom didn't get murked by his debt-collectors? (for a whole ass year)
Also, Gi-un basically choosing to turn his back on his own daughter felt VERY out of character.
The cop subplot
I feel like he wasn’t stupid just very innocent/naïve
Idk they had him absolutely clueless even ignoring how naive he was. Like he didn’t know what even and odd was.
Episode 9 didnt offend me as bad as 7 and 8 did but maybe i was just expecting it more by then
Episode 7 was nearly unwatchable with the fake commentary repeating everything that happened after each scene
Idk they had him absolutely clueless even ignoring how naive he was. Like he didn’t know what even and odd was.
I get how its useful to have a character like that for storytelling but they rly couldnt have picked one of the koreans
Idk they had him absolutely clueless even ignoring how naive he was. Like he didn’t know what even and odd was.
He knew what even and odd were he didn’t know Enough korean to know the Korean words for odd and even though so woo had to explain in simple terms using numbers.
watched episode 1 wit some friends and it was prolly the most fun ive had watching a show in a LONG time.
definitely my new favorite we also watched episode 2 which was aight
looking forward to the rest of the season fr
felt as if that last episode was written by someone else than whoever wrote the previous ones
@SeongGiHun ol Ronald McDonald head ass, “I miss the rage” Mario Judah lookin ass, “lemme get the Sharon Osborne haircut” head ass
i enjoyed it overall, had some great characters and an interesting story and episode 6 in particular was great
but im not sure how else to feel about it apart from that
same tbh just finished ep 6 which is supposed to be the highlight but it was just okay to me tbh
like the things that happened were not shocking to me
the concept and some part of the execution (like the set design and the costumes) is so cool though
i initially thought the old guy was number 001 cuz he’s been trapped there since his youth
Just finished this. The hype was definitely OD with comparison to the show. First episodes were good but it stale when they introduced those VIPS, holy f\*\*\* most annoying characters ive seen in a show in a while. Plot felt forced at some points as well and didn't make complete sense.
7.5/10
Didn’t mind this show at all and enjoyed a majority of the episodes. I don’t think it needs a sequel but Netflix are going to pay out the ass for one despite the creator saying he has no plans for a 2nd season nor does he want to do one.
I feel the case for a sequel could be much stronger if the company remained a bit more mysterious during this season and less things were explained but that’s just me
They’ll make an American remake of it just watch
He knew what even and odd were he didn’t know Enough korean to know the Korean words for odd and even though so woo had to explain in simple terms using numbers.
Oh I see.
Idk they had him absolutely clueless even ignoring how naive he was. Like he didn’t know what even and odd was.
I feel like that part was more so “he didn’t know every Korean word” or the fact that he didn’t receive a formal education
