something i dont understand after watching the 2nd episode: how the f\*\*\* did 201 people not report to the police that 255 people were killed? idk if im thinking too deep but you'd think it's common sense given 101 people voted in favor of leaving the game
Korea stays killing it
just finished this. it was very well done and fun to watch. the premise set up a lot of challenges but the show delivered at a good pace with some entertaining twists
was a bit too violent and realistically gory for my taste but besides that and a few minor plot holes this show is great and I'd recommend to anybody who can stomach the blood
spoilers below
at times it was tiresome but I liked the metaphor of the rich white people paying to watch Korean violence. don't usually mind gore but it was hard to watch somebody hanging depicted that way
one plot hole that bothered me was the main character signing away his organs. thought it was due like a week later and there should've been at least a quick scene of him paying back his debt. also just leaving that kid with his friend's mom like she asked for that lol
so the set up for a season two will be a new round and with the main character using his resources to stop them? I'm in for sure, but I hope this show doesn't drop in quality like the other international Netflix cash cow Money Heist
Is the story/plot rich & interesting/complex? Or is it just goreporn?
I didn’t think he was selfish at all
At the end of the day instead of being a good father (Along with taking a year to fulfill his promise to Number 067 about taking care of her brother) he decides to refuse to take accountability for his OWN choice in taking place in the game where he was given multiple chances to leave and decides to "fight the power" by joining again when its really his survivors guilt talking and once again abandoning his real life responsibilities like he's done before so he can satisfy his hero complex despite not actually having the values to back it up
Fun watch. Didn't love the last ep for some reason though. Something kinda bothered me and I can't figure out what it is

I'm guessing it probably went the same way it did for the MC. The police just brush them off as crazy people and with the little evidence they have there's nothing to go on

You're right about all of this but thats pretty much the only problem I have with the show overall
Is this actually good or this another case of social media hyping mid like bird box?

No way of knowing unless you check it out yourself b. People who love it will tell you the hype is more than real. People who are eh on the show will tell you it ain't that great.

I’m convinced it’s another birdbox, I tried watching the first episode and couldn’t get through it.
Does the main guy become a lot less annoying after the first 20 minutes? Cus I hate this mfer so far.

I think the premise is unique and the show focuses more on the psychological toll the situation has on people as well as the strategies people create in the situation than on gore
it's not a top ten show or anything but it's a fun watch and well executed for what it is. getting so much hype now that some will overrate it and others will s*** on it just to be contrarian. watch the whole first episode for yourself to decide

Its by design. Watch the first three episodes and see if you're vibing with it, he gets better throughout the show imo
This show is paced so slow, there is zero reason the episodes need to be 1 hour
Most Korean shows are one hour plus episodes
Episode 2 was a pleasant surprise. Love when shows flip my expectations. I love the character work as well

Way better then that s*** bro
