This post has always been insane to me, using Off the Grid as your example? Really?
Like I like the song but it's not some upper echelon masterpiece
i remember when this was going around
'off the grid' was not that good a song to be doing all this over
It's lowkey dumb as f*** that she said this lol. Like oblivious almost. "This person working for me hasn't slept more than 30 minutes in however many days"
This makes you look bad sza
i mean its sza we're talking about here lmao
Even tho its f***ed, lets be real thats the industry, and honestly you cant change it.
Its not like working at a plant where you are guaranteed a job and production honestly could move slower just a risk of losing money, no like this is thousands maybe millions of ppl fighting for one spot. Someone will outwork you if you dont outwork them
my question is (as someone within said industry) when do we reach that point in these talks when we ask ourselves if the inception of said industry where these practices happen...weren't healthy or sustainable to begin with?
just cause things are doesn't mean things have to be.

Honestly your right but i feel like its impossible, definitely now to do that. Making music at a indie level sure its possible, but no matter what its gonna be millions trying to get in that mainstream spot where a label will request hard work. And since most artist dont have a problem with that, then itll probably never change
Yall gotta realize that the engineers and producers are working for perpetual racks as well
rappers and r&b singers forcing their engineers to pull 20 hour shifts during holiday season
Oh mannnn
Bro does this for a living. If he wanted to say no he would say no.
No he would be replaced for another engineer forced to work unreasonable hours.

That guy can also quit whenever
Off the Grid is good but there’s like 100 people in New York that could make that beat by themselves in a couple hours
lmaooo
