if that was truly the case then she is 100% in the wrong.
but just because you have one teacher who tried to force religion down your throat does not mean that is a view shared by all of them.
i have never had ONE teacher try to push a religious agenda in their classes.

I mean they're leisure days. They're no different from anyone else's. They shouldn't be expected to do anything on those days.
I think the fact is that within the scope of the American workforce teachers are compensated fairly especially when you take into account pension and healthcare. However, if you look at the American workforce in its entirety you'll notice that just about everyone is underpaid/overworked and therefore teacher's are too.

iHypeSummer is 3 months~, and Spring break/Winter break/Fall break/federal Holidays add up to around another month.
And they get a good amount of sick/vacation days. Some teachers would STILL consistently have substitutes all the time for them despite all those breaks
Where I live, School starts second week august, goes until the last week of may. So thats 2 months off for Summer. So at the most, you're looking at 3 months of reduced work load, but thats you assuming they don't work.
Some work jobs in the summer to help pay the bills, some work summer school, they devise lesson plans, they grade papers, PTA meetings etc.,

And I don't think they're compensated fairly. Especially at the elementary level. They play way more of a role than just teaching kids basic math. We sometimes are around our teachers more than our parents and they have a huge impact on our development. A good teacher can make all the difference, but instead we overburden them with huge classroom sizes, trash curriculum and standards that literally make no sense.
