Overall I just think if people wanted to make funk they would or whatever genre.
Maybe there’s a time in the near future that it becomes prevalent

Let’s just step over my point that you are asking people to completely change who they like and what music to make

Now I'm not here to say that Paramore and all them other bands are bad. It's just so bizarre how with...that crowd of Black folk, they tend to act like they're the only rock music that exists. And they end up making such lazy cheap copies of the white pop-punk bands' music. It's like they're terrified to actually dabble and tap into the Black side of the genre. Which is a shame because there's a very rich history of it that deserves more recognition. Black people been making grunge, punk, metal, etc.

The post is right there on page 1 dog

I mean, maybe they aren’t the saviors of rock you’re looking for. They clearly just like emo s***. And maybe they aren’t talented enough to cook some real non-surface level s*** up.

I’m so confused by what’s even being discussed.

You’re mad that black emo rock exists and funk isn’t relevant as much?

But you are free to like what you like and make what you make. But it is gonna feel awkward that all these white artists can vulture into our bag for influences and then the black artists of the future dig into…the white artists for influence?

    Blind leading the blind lol.

Not even wilding just trying to see where all this is coming from

I think it’s an overall talent thing. Anyone can pick up a guitar learn it just enough to get by and start recording in their bedroom

    There’s too much of it

Don't think niggas gonna realize the scope of all that we lost until like 30-40 years from now when a black youth dem from this instant gratification generation digs through the archives of the days of yesteryear and hears a "The Root" and thinks it's AI because they just can't fathom a song like that being accomplished as a human feat unless they were white/came from the Jacob Collier School of musical excellence.

    -my post from D’angelo thread.

    S*** is looking scary lol.

Read the whole thing and that’s just the rock music they know. They aren’t coons it’s not white worship there’s no deeper nefarious answer - they just don’t know and wouldn’t know older black rock artists. The real question should be about that, not these new young cats remaking the most known pop punk music that all of us of a certain generation grew up hearing, regardless of race

Where did I call them coons or even imply that...or white worship?

  • Nov 4, 2025

How you "read the whole thing" and come to that conclusion...? Clearly you didn't either because I even ask the very question you said in your post

You're not calling them coons or white worship, but the tweets are somewhat implying that.
